Pet aggro nerf

Well that's the thing you all need to get together and tell them that is what's needed. I think it should be 200 range or just when it's on your main pet its auto cast on any pet you summon afterwards same effect from calm demeanor.

Or make the aa auto cast on all pets and give it an on off switch like the other new aas.

If it doesn't land on all your pets then the issue will always have a chance of showing up again whether it be from a underskilled player or from other circumstances.

Heck I am a tank and I will agree with you guys that the pet aggro needs reverted by 50% . I would also say they could possibly revert the change by 75% or maybe even 100% if calm demeanor landed on servants.

But there needs to be things added that gives you more control over all your pets and their aggro .

When a tank is in the group as long as they use a few abilities on each npc they should not have a problem with hate especially in a group setting.

Tanks shouldn't have to med every 10 minutes using every hate ability they have to out aggro a pet that is mainly for dps (servants). Not to mention aggro is 1/3rd our job we have survivability , positioning and aggro to worry about and dps if you really count our dps as anything.

Tanks and pet classes should of got together back in underfoot when this first started and came to a plan for a good fix and all this kinda stuff would of never happened.

It took us warriors about 5 years to get to where we should be and the one ability that got rid of the pet aggro issue when trying to move npcs (warlord's grasp) was nerfed back in december along with divine call and hate's attraction making the issue reappear.

And if you want to see how hard it was to fix just by making the tanks better look at all the hate aa's and multipliers added since underfoot and you will see how much warriors especially aggro ability exploded over them years it was all to fix this issue.

We can basically increase all our hate by like 200% and we have massive snap aggro abilities now.

Every pet starts off at the owner....if possible, they could maybe make the aura surrounding the pet owner, when a pet is summoned the aura puts a permanent buff on that pet....aggro one or deaggro one. And for the love of all things good, increase the aggro on the provocative demeanor aa....it is useless. /shrug

It takes one whole nuke to pull a mob off my pet. Please explain how I a lower my DPS. Not nuke at all? If I do that the healer merc eats all the agro. Daybroken obviously hates mages. Should just confirm my deletion now.
  4. Matari Augur

Forget this. Just revert back to agro if in melee range. There was nothing wrong it to start with. They fixed something that was not broken.

don't know I was running a mage/necro/bst group. i if i use the super tbm dot or swift dots i have the same issue. I am in the process of leveling a new group that won't depend on pets. People going have to get all the augs that decrease aggro they can or going have to start using merc tanks.(if boxing) if mololing I don't know what to do. It sucks
  6. Micker Augur

So a mage can't even nuke a mob that his pet is tanking, without getting aggro now lol??!! I assume this is an unintended change?? That is the most ridiculous thing I can imagine, if it's intended. I haven't played this game in over a year. Was interested in coming back to play my mage, after reading some positive things about pets and then I read this. Just wow, so many companies screw up such good games.

Daybreak, you failed at math. If you cut baseline aggro by 50%, then new aggro prov button must increase by 100% to get back to old baseline aggro.

Pet classes can no longer tank pets. They are simply dots now.

    My case:

Necro sk pet with Prov on. Wrath maxed. Taunt on. Send pet in. Let him get 30 seconds of aggro. Cast two swift dots and pet loses aggro in 2 clicks.

Old aggro, I could cast 3 swift dots and 2 others dots and never lose aggro through their duration.

Without root, necros would be nearly worthless other than dps

    --------------------------------------------

Better solution: Have a toggle aggro down button and return pet aggro to original level. Don't change something that wasn't broken for 13 years..

Necros and Mages now have to relearn there classes. Time to play my alts more now.
  9. Igniz Augur

Except, there is no "relearn their class". All this change did was make magicians practically unable to pet tank. There is no clever way around the pet aggro issue (well, there is, dont nuke or heal, throw in a RS every 12 seconds and look pretty, hope your CLR merc does not pull aggro by healing either).

Even before this aggro change, I would regularly gain aggro from my earth pet by nuking. Only Option for me was the airpet, thus, which delivers more aggro but less survivability. Now, even with my airpet, full aggro mode, taunt, aggro-weapons and provocative demeanor + VoT from SKs, I get aggro by the third nuke at the latest.

This really seems like a learn to play issue. If you are good at your pet class then you already know how to properly control your pets aggro. There really was no need for this.

But I think this was a result of the tlp kiddies crying about pets that caused the nerf. Why can't they just keep this nerf to the tlp servers? Problem solved right there.

They need to give TLP its own code!

Tbh, this time ancient Silver accounts came ahead (for Mages). Without Pet Chaining, I can solo single pulls in the Grounds at level 87 with my Air pet and A5 Cleric Merc, which I couldn't do before nerf for some reason. If you're really worried about aggro, use the Companions Provocative Demeanor AA and 1 aggro sword paired with a DPS sword.
  13. Igniz Augur

Why did none of the raidmages have that GRANDIOSE idea???

Auntie Edith feels the need to elaborate:

The Level 86 Airpet (House of Thule) was a BEAST in its era. If you could not molo single pulls back then, you were doing it wrong. To compare the situation you chose to current time aggro generation of magicians, wizards, rangers, rogues or berserkers and state "my level 87 has no problems, pets are fine" is just trolling. Nothing else. Go back under your bridge.

Obviously, the recent pet changes had a huge customer impact. However, Daybroken has given very little compelling evidence to justify these changes. Based on th amount of customer impact and complete lack of any supporting evidence, these changes should not have been made.

You mean they gave some compelling evidence and I missed it?
  16. Evurkvest Augur

I cant notice any change in aggro after latest patch were the AAs got removed with the nec pet. Is it just me?
  17. Igniz Augur

    Aggro after patch ...

Devs: Back to the drawing board. It's nice that my pet might now taunt off other players, but my pet's innate aggro still sucks more than a choir boy in a catholic church ...

Here lies the Magician master summoner
of nothing good to tank and ex-soloing class.
Survived by the almost extinct Necro class,
Some good beast lords and enchanters.

    lol..
