Personas?

They should be. The 85 and 100 heroics can be applied to a persona. I would expect the 50 to work with a persona the same (although I haven't tried it myself).

If you're considering making a Persona, I advise against it. I feel like a stooge and a rube for buying Laurion's Song for the persona "feature".

I have a beastlord and made a warrior persona.

They can't wear any of the same gear, and when you switch personas all the gear gets flung into the first available spots in your bags. Maybe I'm the only one who tries to organize my bags at all, but I find it very annoying to have the gear mixed in with food and loot and other things I'm carrying. I have to find it all and put it in my last big bag, which I had to purchase just to keep all the persona gear in.

The worst problem is the hotbars.

For a Beastlord, I have six hotbars... by Level 100 there are a lot of abilities and pet commands, plus clickies and macros. When I switch to the warrior, none of the abilities are the same, so I really need to make six new hotbars for the warrior... but EverQuest only allows a total of eleven.

I was able to keep some of the general commands and abilities like Origin on a common hotbar, and combined most of the warrior and beastlord clickies onto one hotbar. I still needed four new hotbars for the warrior, and have to open these and arrange hotbars any time I change persona.

How do people manage hotbars if they have more personas?

I despise it. Every time I switch, I spend 10 minutes managing the gear and hotbars. It's a lot easier (and you don't have to buy Laurion's Song and more bags) if you just camp to character select, pick your alt, and come back in the game.

Before you switch persona put your last bag in the first back slot, switch and move it back. Hey Presto all your persona gear is nicely in your last bag.

I've not noticed a hot bar issue. I thought they cleared them out, but I was playing on a different comp which didn't have hot bars set up.

    This is a good idea!

    The game now uses Name_Server_Class
    Vumad_Luclin_ENC
    Vumad_Luclin_NEC
    Vumad_Luclin_BRD

Every Persona you make has it's own Config. You don't need to do 6+6. Just copy your UI, then swap all that not-usable stuff with usable stuff. It reloads the UI to the other UI every time you change personas.

I suggest setting up some extra hotbars that are the same for every class you might persona. That way your mount, invis, etc are all in the same location.

I organized my boxes / personas like this...

Hotbar 1 is 1 through = so those are the keys I press fast, but some are the same for everyone, like everyone can leap, so leap is 5 for everyone, 9 is fade aggro, etc

Then I have 2 hotbars for class specific abilities.
2 hot bars for defensive abilities
    2 for offensive abilities

1 universal for mounts, rebuffing, etc,
    1 for port items, etc
1 that isn't exactly universal but is similar, like ENC has group invis and DRU has shared camo, so those utility items are on a hotbar.

This isn't exactly a persona issue because I also do this for my boxing. I organize my hot bars by job instead of ability so moving from setting up a box to setting up a persona makes sense to me.

This exactly. I have a bag for my NEC and a bag for my BRD. I just grab that bag out of the bank when I am going to use that persona. All the gear drops into that bag. I also use a larger bag and then I just keep the NEC / BRD specific items in those bags, like spells for upcoming levels.

It was a big deal at first, but once I spent the time to organize my bags that I had been neglecting, it wasn't that big of a deal.

1 last thing on that, I drop all of my old augs and my old raid armor into my dragons hoard. This frees up a lot of bank space.

Yes, you can use the lvl 50 boost on personas. Another advantage is if you are a tradeskiller, you can make all cultural... well as many as you have personas.

Personas would be a nice idea to switch and use some features which only special characters own. But sadly, the switching of personas work only in towns or where it is possible to bind to a place. A rogue for picking a lock or another character for a short buffing station with a class which is missing in a group is not really an advantage and another account or an alt which can be additionally a mule, is more suitable.

Personas have upto this date a couple of bugs. Auto-switching results sometimes in messing up augments, even deleting augments which are not used (in the first slot bag), arrows which are not put back (only 1 instead of all) and such. So better use a completely empty bag for switching or disable the autoswitch.

The nice thing is that raising a noob is extremely relaxed. You have all achievements from your main character and all boni (stat boni) which makes the noob a monster in his level. The gear itself is nearly unrelevant over more than 50 levels. Mine started partly with 10k+ hitpoints. Building up missing achievements in the lower level with ease and a bit of feeling of advancing the toon instead of being bored to run through the stuff with a level 120+ is nice.

But the drawbacks are sometimes annoying. You share the bags. This may be an advantage but if you need the gear in higher levels then you need space. And on my main, space is scarce, despite this char has all bags at 42+ available in the game. The bugs in the UI are another thing. It seems that until this day the UI switch seems to be bugged. Some windows esp. at 2k or 4k resolution wander around, get switched back, etc. when you switch the personas. And after some issues I am even afraid to loose more precious things than a couple of freshly made "round cut emeralds and opals".

Another thing which is relevant at around 60/70+ is that all the old coin has relevancy again. While you have a grave of coins which a main never uses, a fresh toon has access to it without the need to do the raids. As far as I have seen, ALL achievements seem to be active for that persona. That gives the persona a bit a "god modus lite" which is sometimes really fun. Some quests for alts are simply annoying to the bone while they are mere timesinks than fun. As a persona most are simply done. Keys are done. Flags are done. This makes a persona very handy.

I would prefer doing the switch on every place. Like a miracle, switching with the finger and transfering his alter ego from Hulk to the scientist and back. But at moment you merely sneak into your bathroom and scratch away your hulky makeup to be the hero lite on the other side so that nobody realizes you second nature - this is very... uncool to say the least. A persona should be there to empower the main in one way or the other to make not only fun but a bit of a usefulness. The drawbacks Darkpaw put into that feature are suitable to fill an empty space in a 6-box to get other toons up than to have a real use for the own account. There are enough options outside for that - from shrouds to alts except this one is much stronger in the level. A ultimate tank in the lower level is a rare occasion to boost a group.I am not sure if there is another feature but switching only at home is a unnecessary drawback. That makes the feature somehow useless for the own account and more one other timesink in the game to prevent obviously the user from paying Darkpaw for the service. I tried the persona after doing a break for a bit less than a year and had fun upto 50 until I recognized all the bugs. And the feeling of success versus the drawbacks of the usefulness while paying that account with my time is not very high anymore but at least I paid a Krono for Darkpaw - but hey... that fun lasted only around 2 weeks... very thin to bind people to the game...very thin.....
