Permafrost sucks for collection quest.

Butcherblock is out for june. About 2-5 players running around, and I found 6 pieces in 3 hours while being totally focused. Found only 14 spawn points so far. Permafrost was a piece of cake against that. Something should be done with the respawn rate, which should be dynamical related to the player count.

Made a video about spawn points, and yeah feedback I got from people is 2 or more.. it slows down for folks.

I have found about 62 spots so far for Butcherblock Mountains. In the description is the copy and paste if folks want it on their maps

Respawn rate needs to be increased significantly, especially when you are trying to compete against bots running around picking them up.

I had the impression that someone was dominating the zone by knowing already exactly where everything does spawn. And that in just a few hours after the event started. And I had not seen that many players running around, so maybe someone was just warping to the spots, or used a non-macro bot script while using a rogue. Flat outdoor zones are perfect for such scripts but they can also handle more complicated geometry.

    @Zarax
Thx for the spawn loc list, which can be copied from the YT site. This will be very helpfull.

83 entries now at ZAM for BBM, including Zarax's locs. This does reduce the time to complete one set from 180 to about 90 minutes, when using a fast mount or a bard.

The thing is, I don't understand why anyone would even waste time running bots/scripts for these tower collections. They only give out currency...the same amount you get for doing a single tower mission. They don't give xp or AA, so I can't imagine there's a huge market for selling these.

I just wonder why the bots are even bothering on these.

For the achievements (alts), and for selling them in the bazaar.

Detected such a dude (anon high lvl dwarven rogue) yesterday on AB, who most likely was using a bot script since june, the first. When his PC was in the zone, usually no collectibles were up, as he had already (auto)grabbed them. It is just not possible to know all spawn locations right from the start, and I checked all the 85 spawn points, that I know about. There sure are about 100 or even more spawn points around. Not all of them had been found yet. The spawn rate is very very slow, so that it is possible that one player can dominate everything, especially if he/she is using script software.

I think it would be a good solution to turn collectibles into NO TRADE or at least HEIRLOOM items, and to transform all collection achievements and their rewards into account wide ones. Make the rewards claimable for every PC on the account ! It could drastically reduce the grind and annoying/boring time sinks, and limit the cheaters.

Sorry but this is not the solution. Collections are already set up like this when you use Overseer to claim them, those are Attunable . Which makes sense cause OS is account specific so the collects should be also. But you can un attune them and then sell them.

There has always been a market for collections and is part of the economy now - selling, trading, etc, changing it would be like making Krono no trade.

boths are free. Load up your cheating program and unleash it. Then sell the shinies. Maybe your bot gets banned, then make a new bot
  10. Velisaris_MS Augur

That's my point. These collections only give out a one-time currency reward that's the same as doing a mission...and that's it. No xp, no AA...nothing. Why would anyone waste plat buying shinies for just that?
  11. Sissruukk Rogue One

Because some people are completionists and want the checkmark. And if some bot has the collectibles on lockdown your only option is to buy them.

Yea tell me about it, why don't they just make it so the ground spawns are at the zone in and instantly respawns so you can just zone in and click a few dozen times and be done. I mean who wants to play a game where you have to use skill to explore a zone to find things. Or how about you just zone in and get the achievement instantly. The current game is still a cake walk compared to GoD or earlier days.

Why so verbose? Permafrost sucks would have been sufficient
At least they are doing something with the old zone even if it is just collections.
  14. Iven Suggestions Bard

Many achievements and quests are just about that: To get completed. They are the reward itself. Content reward.
  15. Iven Suggestions Bard

I spent about 20 hours in Butcherblock Mountains just because of that. Accounts are full of alts. In one session my PC was running around 10-12 hours, nearly non-stop; manually.

I think the only real benefit for the players is that they can learn more about those zones and their layout. I was surprised to find out that there are so many unfinished, hidden, and poorly populated places in Butcherblock, even that I thought to know the zone very well.

It's only something for explorer and achiever player types (Richard A. Bartle study/theory). I think its Daypaw's/Darkbreak's rather poor attempt to add content for those player types. Especially for the explorers.

I'm also the explorer type (a Spade.) I put in my time at Gfay, and Unrest, and the Gnoll city. But Permafrost broke me.

Permafrost was easy after knowing all the spawn points, but only when the zone was empty. The general problem with collectibles are the often way to slow spawn rates. Unrest was perfect, even with more players in the zone. Script botters are another problem, especially in the first few days after the release.
