PBAE spells on test now only hit a max of 30 mobs

This is my thought as well.

Many people would rather just /afk there xp for $ rather than play the game making levelling and AAing harder and more time consuming for those who just want to play EQ

Already live looking at spells now with new limited targets.

I think the people paying for PLs will just not play. Same as the people that don't want to buy laptops to box but want to box. It's all connected, yes but not in the way you think.

I'm sure there's SOME that would fall into that bucket - but it's likely the minority versus the majority you imply.

Teek is the p2w server. Might as well just sell levels and gear on DB shop.

If they wanted to sell gear on the marketplace it seems silly to do it on the server where gear falls like rain and everyone can easily get BiS every expansion by raiding 2 nights a week. Probably not the best marketing plan.

The point is Teek is the 'swipe to win' server and that's a big MEH from a lot of folks.
  8. Kahna Augur

To each his own. But it is the server where playing 100% found loot and still getting to BiS every expansion is very doable. You won't have to swipe anything to win on Teek. Just play the game, even causally, and you will have more loot than you know what to do with. I have never cared about what gear someone else is wearing or how they got it, but I can see if that is a thing that is important to you that it might take some of the fun out.

Yes indeed. I hope those that are drawn to that experience enjoy it as well.

i think they actually should sell levels for krono if they are really trying to put the AE PLers out of business. it could have some limits like only working to 10 under the cap and still have an effect when combined with other things like the AE target limit. at some point it becomes uneconomical to sell AE PL and the game integrity is no worse than it was when they were rampant.
  11. SnapVine Augur

does it really seem like a stretch to you that getting time loot of a 1 group mob might feel cheesy to some people and its not about what other people are wearing and where they got it?

Just seems to be another case of <upgrade the servers to 64bit and upgrade to dx11 > then nerf everyone for using spells that were intended to hit unlimited targets for causing lag. That or in the case of PL'ing, it's easier to punish everyone instead of doing the work to catch and stop the PL'ers one by one. Either way it just looks bad to swing the nerf bat at something that's been in game for longer than Google has existed

Why are people complaining about this? 30 targets is plenty, and needing to be able to do more than that outside of raids is preposterous even for legitimate uses like farming old tradeskill materials.

In fact, I would prefer it go lower. I could live with 16.

Hard to argue what original intent was because devs didn't even think about snare being used to "kite" mobs or FD used as a pulling tactic to split mobs. Let's be serious and stop using baseless claims about intent when we fully know the original devs of this game were just shooting at the hip half the time. I mean they didn't even understand the difference in the words "Effect" vs "Affect" and now we are left with "Spell Affects" or SpA for short.

Furthermore, I find it highly implausible devs intended for single classes to lock up entire zones with relatively zero effort. Heck, the game would probably crash if it was attempted back then using '99 technology so there were physical limitations built in without needing to limit the spells.
  15. Intercept Augur

Some might, but many will be grouping as they did before people were mass selling AE PLing and they will have more people to group with now too.

Meh, I use to pull AE at max level for AA's and it was fun and challenging, but I'm perfectly fine with this change even tho I still used this method to level up my lowbies until very recently.

Just means you add one more variable to playing, fine by me

I can see how some might be annoyed, but I don't really see it as a big deal, I am sure that one group worked harder for their kill than the full raids in Time did for theirs.

I also get a laugh out of getting Grummus loot from Time mobs but you do have to be able to take it all with a grain of salt to enjoy Mischief.
  18. Celatusp99 Augur

You obviously did not play on mischief.

Naa. Teek is the "I can be a valuable asset to a group / raid and also be able to accomplish far more in game without the need to neckbeard away" server. Also if it is anything like Mischief, it is far from p2w so many players can farm their own group gear (solo no box) sell it on the AH and buy raid gear in return or even be 1 expansion behind fully BiS, for less than 1/10 the value of a krono in plat.

I think the idea of this server upsets certain players who like to have monopolies on camp spots etc. Mischief has probably had the best player driven economy in the last 10 years when it comes to TLPs

At one time the dev's definitely looked upon both snare and fear kiting as a form of exploit and unintended game play. They went so far as to cut exp in half on mobs that were moving when they died for a while.

Cant remember exactly when it happened but I was thinking sometime around late Kunark or Velious.
