Pay for old raid content ?

Demiplane is one of EQ's all time great raid zones. Contain your blasphemies =P

Yeah I've become hardcore casual...

But I'm sure it was great in its prime (though I'd still contend a bit emote heavy), now I find it pretty annoying though tbh.

except for a full suit of cla monk raid armor. none for sale. ever!

Im not sure Dervish Cutthroats are going to do much for you in this instance. they are a self serving, rowdy bunch of bandits. but who knows.

Yea I'm gonna have to say pass. Like Axxius said, you can transfer to FV for pay to win. Like Ammeren said, everything before RoF can be one grouped or Solo'ed. Everything past that, you can open raid. Povar PU's have beat everything up to CotF (even PoW) and TDS is next soon. It takes some hard work but yea, I'm not ok with everyone being able to just buy everything I've spent countless hours EARNING.

I'm fine with them removing flagging requirements for say at least 2 expansions old stuff but just out write buying achievements, no way. I worked my ever living butt off to get my Grelleth seal. That gave me lot of satisfaction. I was jumping up and down, bout doing backflips when I got it. That's the way EQ has always been. #nopaytowin Takes all the fun out of it

You can not by raid flags on FV ...But we are getting somewhere to most wanting old raid flags droped

Lol if you think any red name besides Roshen will read this thread. And he'll only be reading reported posts before locking the thread.

This thread should not get lock, and yes other red names should read this , if they are serious about making the player base happy ...and that EQ player base is getting a lot smaller

I think you are getting confused in what the achievements do for you. All they will do is unlock the ability for you to purchase the item from the raid vendor which means you still have to do the raids in order to get the currency. If you do the raids enough times to get the currency there is a chance you could get the item you are looking from to drop. I think what you are really asking for is a way to buy items from older raids which is a really really bad idea.

Not all raid content is about coin some gave you other things ...Some raids did not even have coin ...

I agreed with him and I'm about as far from elite as possible.

In fact I think the open raids serve as recruiting vehicles for a lot of the smaller casual guilds, so I'd think more of them would be against it. Where as the Elites probably don't care.

(regular open raids on the Rathe for old content).

If what you are saying was true then we would not be down from 55 raiding guild to 30 . Maybe even less then 30 raiding guilds now .

Some server are very healthy some are on life support ,so it maybe some can have open raids a lot can not , and also not everyone plays at same time ..

There is no down side at all to making money for EQ and making people smile in allowing people to buy old raid content ach and items on market place ...

I know I would make all my alts a lot better . Can you hear that , that's money leaving my hand to give EQ ch ching

So now you don't just want the achs but you want the raid items themselves on the market place? Why not just put ALL the gear on the market place then? /sarcasm

Put in the work if you want the items.

Oh I am not denying my alts will benefit from this great idea of mine but then so will so many others , who don't have time for group or raiding like I do , I play EQ every single day some cant ...

As for my mains they don't need raid gear ..they have all of Arx raid gear , and working on TBM gear for raiding atm ...

What are the raid achievements that you "Need" but can't get because no one is doing them? From what it looks like the ones you are talking about just unlock items on vendors that you then buy with a lot of raid currency.

Some raids are already being paid for if you buy an Heroic toon you get the the power of the keepers from that expac or the evil side one ....

Like you I have not been able to experience virtually more than 90 percent of the raid content this game has to offer. I came to raiding around cotf. While what you say would be nice- there are definitely items from old raid content that not everyone knows about nor should know about. If you weren't around to raid it then, I don't believe that should give someone an excuse to have an easy mode way to get said rewards. It honestly can't be too difficult to put together decent groups of friends who can go roflstomp old raid content. Sometimes the biggest challenge can be finding someone to request the instance. In that case, one should do the leg work and go and flag.

No, it's not a good idea. Just do the raids and do the achievements.

Once in a while someone here purports to have a brilliant idea but the majority of the time that idea is something that takes what one could previously spend time on out of the game.
Removing what someone can do or what someone can strive for is not a positive thing; all you do is give less options of things to do when you log in.
The goal is to always have more to do, not less and your suggestion would result in the 'less' side. The more they give away the less we have to afford a modicum of effort to acquire and them to provide. "You mean all I have to do is log in for shiny?!" is not sound for either side.
