I have played a SK as my main for quite a long time. As a change of pace, I decided to make a pally to be the main tank in different groups. Currently he is at 116. What is the best spell line up people use on paladin's in a group setting? I see a lot of posts of this sucks and that sucks, but only really see posts about raid content on spell lineups.
You're going to end up with different spell sets based off of what you are doing / fighting / tanking. In general, it's going to look something like this though (for 115-120 - just sub lower spells for the ones you don't have yet): 1. Penumbral Blessing 2. Preservation of the Bassilica 3. Soothing Touch (slow single target heal) 4. Raptured Light or Burst of Dawnbreak (fast single target heal) 5. Wave of Bereavement (group heal) or Splash of Repentence (AE target ring heal + cure) 6. Mark of the Eclipsed Cohort (reverse damage shield) 7. Ardent Audacity (agro over time + magic resistance debuff) 8. Parlay for Honor (agro over time) These change as needed / by preference: General Purpose Tanking: 9. Crush of the Umbra 10. Crush of the Twilight Sea 11. Brilliant Acquittal 12. Protective Revelation 13. Valiant Disruption Undead - DPS: 9. Brilliant Acquittal 10. Hymnal 11. Requiem 12. Doctrine of Annulment 13. Doctrine of Abolishment Stun Tanking: 9. Ecliptic Force 10. Pious Force 11. Force of the Umbra 12. Force of Generosity 13. Lesson of Guilt I use a macro/keybinding to cast the last 5 spells as a smash key I use a keybinding to cast the last 7 spells as a smash key Don't forget to use Disruptive Persecution / Force of Disruption / Divine Stun based off of what you are doing... Things you might change - The heals at the top: maybe you want / need Regenerating Steel instead of one of the heals, or you want to load multiple group heals instead of single target heals if you're playing the role of a healer, or maybe you want the big boom self heals like Culpability and Propitiation instead. - Mix and match (pay attention to the timer groups) the spells from the different groups I showed so you have a mix of capabilities. - Drop Ardent Audacity and replace it with something / almost anything missing from the bottom sets (ex. a crush spell for tagging with the undead lineup or Tranquil Words if you need to calm mobs for splitting them on pulls) There's a lot of thought that needs to go into what you are doing and what you want loaded for spells on a Paladin. So all of the above is just a few basic examples. Hopefully I got all of the spells correct for your level range (I didn't spend any time double checking things but it should be close enough to get the idea). You'll want to double check that and make sure I didn't screw up any of the timers.
I can't speak to a lot of levels, but last time I parsed it for level 115+ undead nukes were a net DPS loss unless you had a bard in group and were under the effects of quicktime. They just didn't deal enough damage to make up for missing some rounds of melee. Even with burns going.
