Overseer Active Quests

I usually do 5 12-hour quests twice a day. Every once in a while when I click on Active Tasks to complete the 5 quests that I started 12 hours ago there is an extra one of two that I did not start and I get extra experience from those mysteriously added quests. Anyone know why that happens? Is it by design or perhaps a bug?

It has been discussed in bug reports a lot but nothing for certain. It does seem to be happening more often lately.

Some say its one you got shorted long ago just coming thru or something odd like that

This seemed to start happening near the time that quests started randomly disappearing. When I kept track, it was always a quest for which I had just claimed the reward before loading up another 5 quests. When I'd log back in, sometimes one or more of those quests would pop back up in the active quests and in the same state. If an agent had been incapacitated, it would be reported again as incapacitated. If the quest had a critical success, it would be a critical success again.

So my guess is the database doesn't always get updated correctly when you claim an overseer reward.

It's a bug that's been happening for years.
It's a bug that's been reported MANY times.
It's a bug that they CLAIM to have fixed many times, but actually didn't.

Sometimes you get an extra task or two...sometimes you lose a task or two. It's just a quirk of OS that we've learned to live with because the devs have expressed no interest in atually fixing it.
