OK here's the word I'm hearing

If Epics are only available in era the day that server would launch you could no longer get 1.0's since they are Kunark.

Because that worked out so well on Aradune. Witch hunt for 2 months and then no enforcement at all.

lol, it's not a "witch hunt" if you've got the same automated box armies at the same major camps on every TLP.

People just want the rules enforced. Seeing the obvious RMT/krono botters every day without consequence destroys all confidence in darkpaw/daybreak.

I would love some way to do no boxing. I'm tired of having an army of 50 dudes named Paul camping every single pick of whatever makes the most gold per hour... Starting with the last good expansion though? No thank you.

Velious is the last good expansion?

I'd say you need to get out more, but the opposite is true, you need to play a bit longer. Velious isn't even top 5 EQ expansion, there is so much stuff waiting to be experienced.

I'm in CoV right now, one of the many ugly copy and pasted modern expansions

I don't mind luclin/PoP/ldon, but they're more 'decent' than 'good'

I said it with some intention of being dramatic lol, but to me personally, Velious is the peak and everything is downhill after that. Not like strait into the dirt downhill, but downhill nonetheless. And not because the content isn't good necessarily, but the early expansions are just different from the later ones. The game just *feels* different after Velious. I liked Luclin and PoP, and granted, I am framing this from the perspective of a druid, but after pop goes live the number of people I talk to and interact with during a day just drops off and it all feels stagnant. I especially loved EC trading. The Bazaar just doesn't do it for me. The difference between that amazing feeling of having someone happen through your zone who gave you some buffs vs. just AFKing in PoK for 30 minutes while you make dinner and coming back to some MGB buffs just... doesn't do it for me.

There was something great about how hard it was pre pop, and how you really had to build community to get anything done before everyone could viably solo. Classic-Velious are like your childhood, luclin-pop are your early 20's where everything feels new, and everything after that is just "oh, this is life I guess" to me.

While I don't agree with your choices for top expacs I can appreciate where you are coming from and understand why you would feel that way. The game does change as you go along, you're not wrong there and PoP+ the game actually starts to feel alot smaller while also being more...lonely?

Velious is a barren ice wasteland of empty zones with nothing to do in them. Nostalgia has a strong grip over reality.

Its Kunark on ice minus epics and that makes it brutal. Large expansive zones that do nothing but increase travel time to the select couple zones people go to is NOT content

Those guys don't pay for subs. They pop krono.

    Those krono are already sold.

    No profit.
  14. Arclyte Augur

Maybe velious is just a big continent? Why does everything have to be instant gratification?
    Xanathol and Poydras like this.
  15. Triconix Augur

It doesn't. What do big empty zones unused in era have to do with instant gratification? Its just bad design.
  16. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Plenty of profit as someone has to buy those krono in the first place and have someone to sell them to. I know they used to not be able to count the profit from a krono until it was consumed and since krono cost more then a normal sub it is even better profit for them.
  17. Shakara Augur

The only way I feel like Velious is a good xpac is if you don't actually like playing EQ but you like hanging out with your friends in EQ. EQ gameplay is just objectively more engaging in DoDH and on.
  18. Rcbauer Augur

How many krono do you think are in circulation right now?

    Hundreds of thousands?
  19. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Don’t know and I don’t care. There are two facts that you seem to be ignoring about krono.

    1. Every krono in circulation was purchased from Daybreak and at a price higher then subscription through other means
    2. They claim to get paid when the krono is redeemed
    3. Regardless of when they get credit for the krono it still counts as a paid subscription as far as Daybreak is concerned and it doesn’t matter if one person bought it and another redeems it

In the end people paying by krono are still paying to play the game.

LOL they get paid when it gets bought from their website. Money changes hands right then and there. Saying they get paid at a different time is just creative accounting.
