Number of Ideas for EverQuest

I know it's ideas for reference and some ideas I'm not sure some people feel ready for, some ideas may seem overdue but never the less I should post these ideas.

    1. More non-aug weapons, unique weapons like this shouldn't have aug attachments, we need to see more of those in the near future since I notice a few of these in Rain of Fear.
    2. Non-aug shields, unique shields with either a special proc or otherwise.
    3. Shield Specific Augmentations, would love to see more of those, especially Furious Bash Augmentations for Shields among other things and make it so higher versions of Furious Bash exist.
    4. Delay-reducing Augmentations, I'm pretty sure this was suggested few years ago so why was this idea tossed out? Perhaps the devs never thought much about this? I wouldn't mind seeing Delay-reducing Augmentations in the near future.
    5. Changing Shield Specialist AA, again I still suggest this AA to be changed, this time around my idea for that is to make it so that every time a player successfully blocks, the opponent in turn takes damage as if the opponent was suffering the effects of Damage Shield, through this form of Damage Shield is rather Innate and doesn't stack with buffed-based Damage Shields and only applies when using a Shield (in turn give Paladins and Shadow Knights a Knight version of the Ranger's Scout Weapon Mastery, Warriors in turn need a Warlord version of the same thing Rangers have).
    6. Radiant/Ebon Crystals in the Alt Currency, this should be done and added among a number of other updates in the near future, if anything replace the old Radiant/Ebon crystal slots with special bag slots, like the trade skill only bags for example.
    7. New AA abilities, I'm pretty sure I heard this complaint and I noticed a number of good ideas of AAs for the Rain of Fear expansion but all I ever saw was (almost) nothing more but just upgrades to current existing ones.
    8. Augmentation Bird Baths, what to do with this? If anything I say have it for housing purposes, maybe even make multiple versions of these.
    9. Epic Ornament Quests, will this ever come to pass if not something similar? I sure hope so considering the fact not much has been said about Epic Ornament Quests.
It's all I have in mind for now in the case of EverQuest.

A lot of these ideas were probably scrapped at least the first few. The New AAs and Epic Ornaments should be incoming within the year I would think.
If weapons and/or shields had no augment slot then they would have to be boosted at or past what a shield or weapon would be that HAS an augment slot to begin with. It could save them some time to not put/make an augment into the content but that is not a good way to keep people playing. Anymore people are going for augments since they are really about the only thing thats worth a try to upgrading.

I would agree that Radiant and Ebon crystals should just go into the Alt. Currency tab and that something should take up the space with another slot but not for bags. I remember that they had or probably still have items that had the tag of Artifact. It would be nice to have an Artifact slot to have more additional stats or perhaps more heroic stats and maybe resists, mod2s, mod3s, maybe not much in the way of AC or H/M/E since the heroic stats would represent those. At least then we could try and gather these artifacts and stick around awhile longer to collect them also for another reward.

As for ideas for EQ, its getting pretty slim, not too much is original but the people just have to think in a different way. I for one am shocked that they have not tried to add more to Leadership AAs. They added more to tribute and expanded the tribute to not just personal but guild and housing. Yet Leadership AAs were not upgraded if not just slightly.

One of the things I noticed awhile back that I didn't quite understand is why didn't bards get the archery skill and be able to use bows? I would almost delve into tracking with bards but I know nothing is able to change that as of right now, but it would be nice to see more tracking AAs to increase the range for bards and maybe druids.

In the case of weapons and shields with no augment slots, a few examples do exist, one of those classic examples is none other but the Divine Hammer of Consternation as it's unique in it's own way, this was by far the only weapon from the Shadows of Luclin expansion when augmentations where first introduced was the first weapon of it's kind to not have augmentation slots, it remained that way until the Rain of Fear expansion went live and also introduced another similar weapon known as the Terror Steamblade for too is also another unique weapon that doesn't feature augmentation slots (and since it can be used by any class, the devs at this point might as well make it so all classes have 1h/2h Slashing skill as well as 1h/2h Piercing Skill as well).

As for Bards not able to use bows, now that's a very good question considering the fact they where refereed as jack of all trades and masters of none in the old rules, in fact all classes might as well have the Archery skill in the near future for what your saying also reminds me to why Clerics are only restricted to using 1h/2h Blunt Weapons, a interesting article called "Busting the Myth about Clerics and Bludgeoning Weapons" tells a lot of interesting facts to why Clerics in gaming rules where only restricted to blunting weapons (heak I wouldn't mind seeing a Druid wearing full plate armor so as long as the full plate is made out of wood and not out of steel).

As for the thought about the Leadership Abilities, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to express about that when I first made this post but since you brought it up I should mention about it.

The Leadership System just needs to undergo a series of changes considering the fact it was hard-coded back from the Gates of Discord expansion, in fact a LOT of things where hard-coded within Gates of Discord not to mention the numerous number of bugs within that expansion which caused a great deal of controversy to begin with, if only Gates of Discord was released on a rather later date and a lot of things (if not everything) was double checked and released at least somewhere around mid 2004 instead of early 2004, things would take a rather different turn.

In either case the Leadership Ability System needs overhaul, if it hasn't been updated for that long over the years then yes it needs to undergo a major change, some people may not even like that idea but it's one of those things that has to be done.

That said, the bitter truth is better said then the sweetest of lies when it comes to the point where the bitter truth must be told when the moment is right and this is that moment.
