Yes Everquest is not designed for pvp. Yes pvp servers are TOXIC and full of obnoxious and hateful cellar dwellers. But there is enough of us out there that thrive in such a environment that it would be a great 2 years while it lasted. This long long overdue.

There are not enough of you out there.. seriously.... If there was this server would be already up.

Turn red and stage some pvp events on Agnarr or something... proof of concept?

Ask for this as a Quarm event, since that seems more likely?

If XP was notably faster on PvP I could certainly be tempted to come back for it. Not Sullon though, open Rallos gank style.

If there was there would already be a server with instances
If there was there would already be a server with truebox
If there was there would already be a server with 3 months no voting
If there was there would already be a PoP locked server
If there was there would already be a PvP server

    hmmmm

All rule sets adjusted by huge PVE demand from folks.
Grab 1000 friends join a TLP and show DBG there is a demand.
Pretty simple since there are hundreds if not thousands of people wanting PVP in EQ.

Something tells me they don't want to setup a server that will breed non-stop complaints from the toxic pvp type of server.

80% of the server using some type of showeq program + any other type of program that would be nightmare mode for anyone not using it and trying to pvp....

Not really. Same thing with eq progression, it doesn't work when it isn't enforced by server rules so that people are gated and a community forms.

Yes please, let's try something new.

Yeah let me just grab a thousand friends, make them pay for a sub to a server that they don't even like, all in the hopes that DBG *might* possibly consider releasing a server with our preferred playstyle.

The demand is out there, there's constantly PvP threads popping up. The players of VZ/TZ/SZ/RZ want their nostalgic EQ experience as well. Please don't discriminate against us because we're a niche of what's already a niche game.

PvE servers are more toxic than any PvP server I've ever played on. Agnarr had constant training during group and OW raid encounters, box armies locking down high demand spawns/items, afk auto clicking parades for ground spawns. None of that would exist on a PvP server. Kill the trainer. Kill the box army. Kill the afk auto clickers. If you think people are willing to open their wallets for Krono to gain an advantage on a PvE server, wait until you see what they're willing to shell out for an advantage on a PvP server.

Spin it up. The PvPers will come.

I suggested Sullon Zek because god War's was just awesome. Good vs Neutral vs Evil. Plus Sullon Zek was anything goes other then racism. There were NO RULES so no crying to GM's. I know if you get this server fired up you would bring enough people back to make it viable for about 2 years give or take.

Weren't the PvPers swearing a few months back that we would see a red uprising on Agnarr because the lock made it the perfect place to PvP and people would get bored of raiding and whole guilds would go red.

Again Sullon Zek ruleset would be anything goes except racism. The people that came to this server would know full well that everquest pvp is broken and unfair but would still want to relive the glory days. Fast 50% Bonus exp to level with Ragefire unlock and boxing allowed. We had a guy that use to 18 box on Sullon Zek back in the day.
  14. Galactron Journeyman

Any true hardcore pvper wants action right off the bat, the struggle to survive and level. Going red lock after maxxing out is for bored Bluebies as we use to call them.

Abacab tried that, then became the server first transfer.

The whole point of Everquest PvP is content control. PvPing over PvE content that yields items that make you stronger in both PvP and PvE. It's about locking down a dungeon to farm levels, items, and/or AA's, to progress your characters, to give you that edge during your next PvP encounter. It becomes very political, alliances forged and broken.

Flicking the PvP switch on on a server where everyone is max level, with max AA's, with BiS gear is not why EQ players enjoyed PvP. It's about the fight on the journey to max level, to your BiS gear. There needs to be a a reason to fight each other, not just PvPing for the sake of PvP.

I don’t PvP, beyond a stint on SZ back in the day. This is just what the PvP requesters were swearing would happen to Agnarr a few months back. Everyone with two brain cells to rub together knew it wouldn’t happen, because most EQ players hate PvP, and because PvPers are only happy on a server where they can gank newbies, which you can’t do when people can level in peace, then switch when they are geared.

Like the movie Field of Dreams. "If you build it they will come"

Come on Daybreak PVP TLP, do something different. Make PVP servers !
  19. Galactron Journeyman

Well said brother! Conflict breeds a strong bond in a guild. Not only do you struggle to level and gear up you also struggle to survive.

Blue servers would see more red server refugees if the crossteam coding wasn't so brutal. On P99, you can at least be healed or buffed across the red-blue boundary if you're in a duel with someone, so that makes grouping occasionally feasible. On DBG servers, this doesn't work. When you flag red you're out of the group game 100 percent.
