View and Search All the Items That All Your Characters (up to 14 characters) Have, including bank and house items.

Version 3.1.3 has not much new: Greatly increased speed for listing and searching All Items. Also added the character name in the upper left of the worn items grid..

Not sure if this is even worth a new thread but I figured I should let people who care know ther is a new version out. Going forward, the current version information is always on the the main page of Fanra's EverQuest Wiki.

I would use this if it allowed more than 14 toons .. I have 14 toons on my main account alone and I have 5 other alt accounts that have anywhere from 6 to 12 alts or mules with stuff on .. and another 5 accounts for just mules and misc toons i play now and again ..

your program would need to allow like 50 toons for me to use it :( ..

Is it possible to have multiple installations of EQIR? That would allow a user to look at more than 14 characters. Not a terribly elegant solution to be sure, but perhaps it could work.

In any case, thank you for this. It helps greatly.
  4. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

Yes. You can Export settings and Import them. So you can create several saved sets of characters. You can also have more than one copy of the program running at once, so you can have two or more with different sets of characters.

The problem is that you can't combine the All Items to include more than one set. But your idea has merit.

As for increasing the limit of 14, I don't see that as likely at this time.

    You are welcome.

Windows Defender doesn't like the file (Defender is well known for false positives). McAfee has no problem with it. In any case, thank you for your work. It has saved me tons of aggravation.

Thanks for this! If you're taking ideas for enhancements, one thing that would be handy would be to show all the available collections and whether or not I have the individual collectibles. Bonus if it could highlight the specific collections for which I have all the necessary collectibles. I don't think it's possible to output which collectibles I have already collected, but just being able to see all the collections matched to my inventory would be helpful to know which ones I can complete.
  8. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

This is not possible with my program.

The way my program works is by reading the output files that players create by typing /outputfile inventory and /outputfile realestate.

Those files contain only the following: Location, Name, ID, Count, Slots. That's the Location of the item, the Name of the item, the EQ ID number of the item, the amount (Count) of the item (like a stack of 20), and the number of augmentation Slots the item has (for items) or bag slots (for bags). And of course, each file has the character and server name they came from.

So that's all I have to work with. It does not have, like various EQ fan websites, a database containing information on the items. If you do click on the buttons in my program for Lucy or Magelo, it just is a URL to those sites containing the item ID. Those sites have the database which by taking the ID will show you the item.

So, a collectible is no different from any other item. There are no tags in the /outputfiles that indicate what kind of item it is.

    You are welcome.

Windows Defender is, I assume, checking for code signing. I've looking into signing my code and it is complicated. I'll have to see if I can do that.

The reason I didn't sign it is that I didn't know Windows Defender was doing that. Since when I run it on my machine I don't get those warnings. I don't have a 'test bed' machine that I can download and run EQIR on that is separate from my programming PC.

I just tried a 'signed' version and it actually won't run, it gives me an 'Unhandled exception' error. I'll have to look more into it. Of course. maybe Windows Defender has some other reason to not like it.

Is the warning just a, 'Unknown software from unknown source' warning?

In the end, all software anyone installs means you have to trust the programmer. If you get EQIR from https://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/EverQuest_Inventory_Report then you are getting it from me.

"Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk."
  11. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

    Thank you.

Here's what I found out about that:

This warning is shown if your app doesn't have enough reputation with Microsoft SmartScreen yet. In order to gain reputation, you can either
    • submit your app for malware analysis to Microsoft,
    • buy an "Extended Validation" code signing certificate,
    • buy a standard code signing certificate, or
    • just wait for a long time.
I just submitted it to Microsoft. Of course, every single change I make I need to resubmit it. The only other option I see is to pay them money.

I have no idea if or when they will mark it as safe.

I took a somewhat different tack for this.

Someone (and sorry, I can't remember who) posted a link a few years ago to a spreadsheet they had made listing all the collectables. I expanded it, listing all the quests and names for hunter as well (each expac is a separate tab). I also have tabs for anniversary quests, heroic AAs, merc gear, and other miscellaneous stuff (like the pages you collect for the archeology quest in DH (The Gribble Zone, I actually can't remember what 'DH' stands for, LOL!)). I added a tab at the beginning with total for collects, quests and hunter names for each char/alt. When I add an alt, it's just a new column on each tab, takes very little time to add a char to the spreadsheet.

When I get new collectables, I can see right away who needs it, or if it's a dupe for the house(s) where I store them. Makes it very quick and easy to keep track of everything.

I have (and I'm sure others have) requested that Darkpaw create an /outputfile achievements which would list our achievements (including collection). Then I would spend a great deal of time on EQIR or another program which would let you look at and search the achievements for every character you have. Which would be nice.

Of course, that still wouldn't tell you which collectables you have in your bags/house/bank, unless the /outputfile achievements had the collection section list even those you have not collected, then it could make a list of every collectable in the game and compare it to your items.

Your spreadsheet sounds like something I need until Darkpaw adds /outputfile achievements. Any chance you will be willing to make it public in Google Docs?

    Thanks.

I will put it on my "things to do list". Just need to do two things first:

1 - make a copy and clean it up for public consumption, remove my char info, etc.
2 - remember who did the first spreadsheet so I can give them credit ;)

New version 4.0.1 now released. Mainly bug fixes. Also shows how many characters you have/max 14 when adding/removing characters.

Target CPU is now x64 since to play EQ you must have 64 bit Windows anyway. Although I suppose someone could run EQIR on a different computer than the one they game on? I haven't noticed any speed increase with EQIR targeted for 64 bit but I figured why not go with it.

Well, #2 is done.... it was you, Fanra! At least, I found a link on your wiki!

Anyway, I'll try to have #1 done and the sheet posted to google docs in the next couple of days.

Edit - Also just found this: https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/complete-collections-list.242930/

The link in the post is dead now, but that might also be where I got it.

New version 4.1.0 released. Some bug fixes. Also now shows all six possible augmentations in your items. I believe the maximum augmentations any item can have is six. So now EQIR shows them all (of what you are wearing).

Coming up soon™ are Achievements! Yes, Darkpaw will, if it passes through Test server OK, be adding /outputfile achievements this coming Wednesday.

So, I'm working on adding them. Of course, then the name EverQuest Inventory Report does not quite cover all it will do :p.

This will enable to you to use EQIR to check your achievements, your Hunter (because they are achievements), and your collected Collection items (because they are achievements).

One big thing will be search. Something that in-game is lacking. I plan to let you search your achievements to find the ones you want.

Assuming I get all this to work, that is.
  18. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

Ok, here it is: Version 5.0.0, with ACHIEVEMENTS!

Obviously, you need to wait for today's patch (unless you are playing on Test server) to create your /outputfile achievements. When you do so, make sure you have Open, Complete, Locked, all checked in your Achievements window, so you get everything.

Search is not ready yet, so there is no achievements search. It should come soon™. Also to come: prettying it up. And the entire program has bothered me for a while with being too slow. I've got some hopes that I can make some big improvements there, soon™.

And introducing, version 5.0.1. Yes, less than a day later, another version.

No, still no achievements search and filtering Open, Complete, Locked (it's coming, really!). But I'm so excited by the massive speed increase in displaying worn character items, and more impressively, the All Items display and search. The All Items is almost instantaneous now.

Still to come on the speed front is some hope that the initial Loading..Please Wait... screen, and more likely, the switching between characters, can be sped up considerably.

However, with the current increase, I think I'm going to hold off on more speed improvements until after the achievements search/filter have been done.

Oh, if you are getting annoyed at having to enter your character information with every update, especially at the speed they are coming now, you should be using the menu item Tools > Export/Import Settings to export them from the version you are using now and then import them into the new version.

Highly embarrassing bug where switching characters did not update the Achievements tree, it kept it for character 1 no matter which character was selected.

    Fixed now in version 5.0.2.

Unfortunately this does slow down switching characters somewhat, it's high on my priority list to improve that.

Also added status icons to achievements (checked box for completed, unchecked box for open, padlock for locked).
