New ancient drops - why so much hate for clerics?

OK.. seriously, we get it. Once upon a time, complete heal was the most overpowered spell in the game and, as a result, someone on the dev team decided that clerics should never have a fast-casting form of invis (other than potions).

Is that really still relevant? Is there some reason why the new drop from Ancients with clicky invis is ALL BUT CLERICS? I mean.. warriors can use it... paladins can use it... monks can use it.. but for some reason clerics can't?

Not that I don't love my 15 second cast time cloudy steel mask (and yes, I know there's a faster one from DoDH if you're willing to farm it, and a decent one from a Deathknell raid if you're willing to drag a bunch of friends there a bunch of times until it drops) - but for the love of Brell, it's time to end this anti invis-for-clerics crusade.

Has nothing to do with complete heal.
Its because you always burn the bread.

I don't believe the effect is fixed duration so you'd still need potions. Sorry, this probably makes it even more galling Clerics cannot use it. :(
  4. Zamboni Journeyman

Yah, I understand that it's non-fixed invis - just like every other cleric invis clicky (other than the invis item that mages can summon, although those have limited charges).

And you're right - that's another reason why there's NO reason for clerics to be excluded.

The real question is why does everyone elses clicky heal have a 5 second cast time making it worthless while clerics and priests are spoiled with a 40k heal thats 5 times faster to cast.

Have to agree on that one.

I was also wondering why clerics were excluded and if there was some lore reason.

The invis on this item isn't amazing because of the recast time, you'd still want the Mask of Vanishing (or whatever) or invis potions.

Basically, clerics have never had fast items with invis on, just like a lot of other classes have never had any fast itu on items.
    Which evens Things out.

The thing is more or less as always been, clerics do not have invis, a lot of other classes do not have itu. There very few items that can give the classes something they do not have, and those items are relative long cast time

And as you mention there ARE some items, you can get with the effect you would like, just dont expect to get the fastest.

Example is for beasts, WHO stil have to use itu earring with very long cast time on.
So dont expect to get the best, just because the item is there.

Everything is part of the balance of the game.

It's not balancing to the game in the least to have a couple of classes that can't cast invisibility at this point lol. Though it's not that big of a deal to stock up on cloudy potions and make a warning audio trigger for when it's fading if boxing or something. I think bare minimum, they should throw some set duration instant invisibility and IVU potions on vendors for convenience sake and something else to spend platinum on. Worst case scenario make set duration TS recipes

Beasts can't use Crumblewidget's Death Imitator? At least the earring (Bone Earring of Evasion) is fixed timed, though.

how difficult are the FM ancient mobs compared to the other named mobs in FM and other T1 zones?

Well when it comes down to it other caster classes get both perm invis as an aa so why not clerics?
  14. Crystilla Augur

This statement by itself is true - clerics haven't had invis. However, the 2nd part of your statement doesn't hold any longer. Classes who have never had ITU and have no lore for getting ITU (like mages, etc.) now have ITU AA's as well as all the various spell and AA's for their regular Invis which they've always had.

Once lore goes out the window for some classes, it opens the door for others. While I know the devs are listening and most likely not going to change their mind about allowing clerics to have invis ... it doesn't stop us from always asking because the rules have changed from days past.

Doesn't make sense lore wise to give clerics innate AA invis (except maybe to evil or sneaky races/religions like Halflings or Dark Elves) - but I agree, they should be able to use the invis click like everyone else.

Crystilla, you're so level headed, I wish I could be more like you instead of a crazed lunatic.

Zam, you know not every class can have everything, it wouldn't be fair, I mean how would you like it if ANYONE could have a 96 Rez clicky?.......oh wait.
  17. Karhar Dream Crusher

Our fade used to have invis :( then they takeith that awayith too :(

But I have one of These. But i never use it cause of 7 seconds is too long, easier to buy 300 potions
  18. Corwyhn Lionheart Guild Leader, Lions of the Heart

And mages chanters and wizards lore wise should have perma invis to undead? *shrugs* Since they all have it I think it is less a lore issue and more of a might as well even it up for clerics issue. Give them a bit more utility.
  19. Reval Augur

It's always the ones that start with R isn't it? Just give clerics a good, short cast time invis already lol no one's going to protest them getting it. Lore is never an excuse when it comes to class balance since you can always lore your way out of anything. Oh look at that the clerics have been blessed by Mithaniel Marr with a passage that goes through the spirit realm, but they must concentrate on it, and to do anything in the tangible world they have to return to the realm of the living. TADAAAA! You could even make a cool quest around it, but for the love of god give them the invis. This would be like if a random class didn't have the ability to run and just had to walk everywhere.

Well, Ogres and Trolls are so fat that this probably should've been the case.
