Need Before Greed on a game with Kronos doesn't make sense.

Yup. 1-way server transfers were first allowed from Storm-whatever prestige server and then, shortly before I left, they started allowing 1-way transfers directly from other servers. It was still just 1 character per account at that point. Later, before there was free to play for any of the games but a subscription gave you access on all of the games (pre-HoT, I think), FV was "relaxed" to 4 characters per account. This was one of the things advertised, sort of, to entice more players to return to FV, at least in the former FV players circles. I'm pretty sure Krono was even after the games went Free to Play because there was no Krono when I stopped playing any of the SOE/DB games sometime after 2012 (maybe 2014?).

It didn't help the industry that Zam, Wowhead, and just about every other similiar sites to host basic information were funded mostly by RMT. Just how things went, though. Outside of the progressive servers here, we mostly see RMT farmers and the whales that support them here now.

Bought out by RMT, yup. I remember when the big RMT company bought 'Zam and all the claims how they were separate just owned by the same parent company.
