Started to make a guide wrote this up pretty quick at level 44 I cant remember a lot of levels though I will keep this updated and edit it later. (Possibly)

    Useful Gear/Clickies/Potions by level
    Potions:
1 - Philters of the Wolf - Is basically a Sow potion which helps a great deal before preparing for the luclin AA's. Unless you want to spend more total on the journeymans from someone, 10-20 + stacks should last you a long way, and they only sell for around 50? plat a stack. Your level determines the duration, so using them at 1-5 isnt as efficient as later on.
1 - Elixir of Greater Concentration - This adds 3 mana regen for around 20 minutes at around 40, which helps. The cast time is long but they are cheap and made by shamans like the wolf philters.
1- Ants Philter - Shrink pots can come in handy in many situations. These are self only cast and will not work on pets. Price: around 100 plat a stack
40 - Circle of Shadows - Though the cast time reads .1 seconds, this normal invis casts instantly and while running, making it great to hotkey from your inventory. This breaks charms nicely also for charm swap killing, where you have your pet low on health, invis to break, and switch to a higher level mob to kill the lower health one. Keep in mind you'll need to do at least 1 dmg from yourself to gain more exp than just pet kill exp which seems to be very low if not doing any damage yourself.
This is a rare item which drops off a goblin bodyguard in Frontier Mountains which seems to be a rare spawn and bot camped. They are often sold for 2 or so Krono as of 11-2-2017 though expensive, very worth it unless you want to try and camp it. The npcs to kill are around level 34. The goblins drop green goblin skins (sell for around 20plat each or turn in for chardok faction used for a few good items) also so it's not a bad place to exp/farm if you don't mind soloing, though it can still take forever to get this item to drop.

40 - Orb of Tishan. If you're really set on a specific undead pet to charm, this 1hb item has a chance to proc Tashani. This spell will lower the mobs magical resistance which will greatly improve mainting a charm, as the mobs magic resist is checked each "tick" they are charmed. If CHA affects undead charms is undetermined and not tested by myself though I tend to not charm as nearly as often as using a normal pet, which are stronger at the classical levels comparead to live servers.
49 - Shai'din Revenant Bauble - This is a SHD/NEC earring with a 1.5 sec cast "Bobbing Corpse" which is actually a sk spell. This is self cast only but makes it easier then memming if not casting on anyone else and adds enduring breathe/poison resistance in addition to levitate for over an hour. This is trade-able and can be bought off players.

46+ Necro Epic 1.0 - this epic is super useful, a full guide can be found <here>. It's a long quest but something to work on before you reach higher levels or at the cap making it easier to solo a lot of the parts.

Grouping: (Classic-Kunark) - Obviously suggestions from experience - There's a lot of zones out there.
Level 1-10 - Any of the newbie areas are good here. As an iksar I found the field of bone a very nice place as the mobs are bundeled up by level the first few levels and the pit (4-10) can be easily pulled with your lower level spells.
7-14 - Kurns. Like most indoor dungeons kurns has a high zone experience modifier, meaning the kille xp rate is increased by a lot. Its a good place for solo or group. All the mobs here have a very low aggro radius and it's a good place to pickup bone chips for future pets if you're starting broke.
10-25 - Unrest. Unrest is a popular group zone with 4 areas often camped between picks. The yard, or outside of the estate has mobs that are good tilla round 15. They spawn often and seperate from one another.
Next you'll want to move to the MR (Main room) as a group at around 14-18, then the Firepit (Upstairs) for a few levels and eventually the Basement area (In a group) for the remaining. If you dont mind the same sceneray its a good place to stay until 25 or beyond. Not a great solo instance aside from the yard.
20-30 - I didnt get a chance to group here much though Castle Mistmoore is a great place to group at starting at around 20.
30-35 - A very high exp group area are the Swirling Smokes/basiliks on the northwest most side of Lavastorm mountains. With a group you'll fly through levels here as the spawns here spawn extremely fast (maybe 1 or 2 minutes) allowing for nonstop slaughter. This place is a good solo spot to as they don't aggro one another too easily and there's a safe tunnel to sit med or even kite inside just at the camp.
30-46 - Lower Guk - This place has a high exp modifier and there tends to be groups at everycamp as of 11-2-2017. The bedroom and assassin area (near the entrance is a good place, depending on what other camps youre pulling) until around 35-40. The lower level maze-like areas on the east side (Such as Hamlord which involves the Lord Arch Magus and Hand camp) can get to 46+ very quickly relative to other zones).
I left out a lot of other places though most indoor zones are popular for groups, such as Dalnirs for 30s, KC ( though this place doesnt have the indoor exp bonus) around 40s
46+ As of today the expansion is currently at Kunark so Seb is a great place to find groups. The key quest is very simple with help from 1 or two people if youre lower than 45, requireing you to kill 2 specific frogs, looting their medalions, and handing them into the EMporer in the south area of the zone. The idol will allow you to zone into Seb.

    Solo Guide (Classic-Kunark)
The Agnarr server seems to be a good place to group which normally goes faster with exp than solo unless you have a good system down somewhere and can be patient medding. Without clarity it will go slow with mana regen until 31 when you get Call of bones, which regens about the same rate (1 tick under generally) of Clarity 1. Though consuming health also, it doesnt hurt to rotate vampiric curse (health dot) or lifetaps to make up for it.
As a necro, charm kiting or keeping a charmed undead can be very good exp if utilizing fear, the 22 short duration mez (Screaming Terror) and the undead fears which last a lot longer than the normal fear which doesnt upgrade until higher levels.

1-10 - Newbie zones / FIeld of Bone
15-25? - Around these levels there's a nice quick spawn spider farm spot in lavastorm mountains. 4 spiders spawn on a mountain near the sol entrances, near the tri goblin spawns which are a bit higher and difficult to solo as they're casters and hard to split. THe Lavaspinners will sit or wander separate from one another and spawn every few minutes, making it easy to solo with a normal pet.

18-25? - East Karana - There's a lot to kill here. A good target to look for are the Crag spiders, which drops up to 4 spider silks per kill which makes good loot for sell or to level tailoring.
They are around level 19-23, though before these levels there's a lot of other wandering mobs to kite easily. YOu just need to be weary of the human guards/paladins/npcs that do not like evil factions such as Iksarss.
30-35 - As the group guide mentions, the swilring smokes in Lavastorm are very good exp to solo at around mid 30s. Constant safe pulls and fast respawn times.

32-37 - South Karana. Around the zone and more specifically the Aviak Tower has a lot of spread out and wandering easy to kite Aviaks and Centaurs.
Level 42-47 - Trakanons Teeth - Southside Specrtres (Undead) near the Emporers Tunnel.
The area southwest most of the zone near the entrance to the Seb quest turn is has only undead that wander around randomly conning lb to yellow at 43. Since their undead you can charm or ud fear kite. Both are pretty affective. Though they willa ggro you if your near them, fearing them or having them near one another will not cause them to add.
The best practice is to snare pull to the south wall, drop dots and fear with a normal pet. Undead charming is possible also though they seem to have a rather high Magic Resist making the spell break a lot.

Well done, that's awesome work !

I advise you to save your post in any document format on your PC and to post also on necro specific sites, the problem with DBG's forums is that there are no subsections in the TLP forum, and your thread will be rolled back within a day or two. We did so for the mage class as it became obvious there is a demand for player guides expressed by returning players on progression servers.

necrotalk was/is a solid class site (haven't peeked at it in a while, been playing melee).

Post it at allakhazam (if you can be patient with the forum posting issues that the fix is still delayed on) in the general forums. You could start of movement there to include class guides in the progression wiki, and/or it could get added to the "useful threads" sticky.

Najena and Befallen are good zones for a young necro to hunt in because if you are gearing as you level and have no coin to buy upgrades, these are two zones with necro (or int caster) drops. If you really know your loot tables both have some quest related tradable drops too (for several classes).

Once you are higher level, the Hole with the loam...

Looking ahead to Velious there are some useful drops in Crystal Caverns and ToFS (and ToFS is just fun), and 40+ Velk's will be packed for ages with groups.

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I was thinking to start a site about a week ago and after writing this one guide up decided to startup agnarr.net - which is new (as of this morning) so there's only a few pages so far. The Necro guide is one of the pages. Maybe I can get all classes in at some point.

Man, that's the way to go, I'm glad to see EQ is not totally dead and some players still try to save the ancient wisdom from the good ole days :)

For your class ressources section, may I suggest you link for Agnarr mages the TLP section of the eqmagetower site ? I have been working on mage stuff these last weeks, and although it is not Agnarr specific, it covers mostly Classic to PoP which is perfect for Agnarr.

Anyone have any info on best spells to use for raiding? What is least likely to be resisted, and casting orders. Much appreciated.
  8. Mwapo Augur

Highest damage per cast time for order, don't cast dots that won't go full duration due to monster hp unless they will still do more than a nuke/tap. You need to play around with resists, because there are way too many targets to name them all. Try to keep Boner alive because he's your highest dpm and possibly dps dot in those eras.

Then at the end of raids, turn off your computer and cry yourself to sleep because you chose to play a necro in PoP when you realize that you should have rolled monk, ranger, SK, or rogue and played melee quest.
