Forget relaxed truebox. Abolish truebox completely and permanently.

Nothing would kill a server faster for us normies than seeing box armies everywhere

Good with random loot & FV loot.
How about something new like all classes level locked releases instead of expansion locks.
I guess autogrant would be adjusted accordingly spells and aa.

I will be happy with free trade + random loot + evolving bonus by expansion like Oakwynd!

This is money in the bank for DPG.
  5. OldTimeEQ1 Augur

Please no. It is aggravating enough to seee bot armies run around (I am sure they are not trueboxing 25 chars heh), but no truebox will just be disheatering for non box players (we are very few though).

Remember non enforcement of truebox is a DPG ball drop.

That's why I ask for a truebox server and a non truebox one. BTW the bot armies are in truebox servers, so truebox rules are enforcing those who circunvent the rules.

    Yes, please.

The very few aren't paying the bills. I'd be fine with no truebox but macaroni quest block.

    No keying for raids
    No truebox
    Free Trade
    All classes/races unlocked
    All expansions unlocked from beginning
    Guaranteed high population

    Simples...

Oh wait isn't this just the FV server.
Just play live... it seems to be what everyone is asking for anyway ;)

That actually technically wouldn't be a FV clone and would be a unique ruleset server.

I have played on Oakwynd since launch, true box rules set, still in effect, there have been many people that box 6 chars since the beginning...True box does not force everyone to play a single character...

I play 2 characters and I always have....in 2000 I was playing 2 characters. all true box does is make me use two machines which I have and do use...but I can play 2 chars on the same machine with no 3rd party software and unless things go really crazy at a camp you would never know I was playing two characters...

I play two characters on Oakwynd it is harder on two machines but it does not stop me from playing two...

True box does not do what you hoped it would do.

How about every group named has a loot lockout of 1 day. No hogging camp spots - if you kill it, you get loot lockout. It'd be a very interesting market. Raid targets all get a 6 day loot lockout.

This makes BIS be a very difficult goal, and most people need to up their skill level because you can't have everyone BIS. You gotta play without perfect gear.
Also, monks get -30% damage h2h to balance out the fact that everyone would just play them for easy op.

True box never was about playing one character. The "Box" part of true box meant you needed to have the extra computer...just like some still complain about. Sure, there are people with VPNs or some kind of hack getting around it, which is frustrating because it feels unfair...but cheaters will find a way on any ruleset. Boxing with extra keyboards or number pads connected to another "box" is true box.

What true box did was get rid of a lot of 25+ boxers. For the most part it worked. TLPs after Fippy and "Magefire" are nothing like what the wild west once was. But 6 boxing will never disappear, and who cares anyway? Superbox armies of multiple groups disrupting zones was the problem.

That said, early relaxed true box might be called for. I actually prefer true boxing now though. I'll never "alt-tab" again!

Yes it does. It limits the amount of box armies in the game.

Hopefully they release 2 servers this time, one truebox and one non-truebox, so we both can play what we want. You don't have to like what I like, but you should accept the fact that seeing mage armies running around in an MMO is ridiculous and most players don't want to deal with that.

There was a reason truebox was invented, and the most popular private servers don't allow it.

It limits nothing there are people on Oakwynd running large crews on a true box server.

People obviously cheating and using VM should be banned

That is a separate issue from truebox

It's not a separate issue. They keep releasing servers as True Box but never enforce it. The True Box servers always have armies on them which are very obviously breaking the rules. All True Box is doing at this point is preventing non-cheaters from playing an extra character or 2.

The people that circumvent the True Box rules, and those cheating in other ways, will never be banned, they get a temporary suspension at most. The company cares more about the sub money they would lose from the cheaters than the integrity of the game. Which is ironic because I wonder how many players they've lost over the years due to the rampant cheating in EverQuest.

YES, they are...Which is why I continue to point out True box does not do what you want it to do.

They are not getting banned...I would much rather play my two characters on a single machine...

I will play with two machines...I am doing so on Oakwynd.

But True Box only hurts honest players...
