Monks: Two 1 handers or One 2 hander?

This may have been asked 1,000 times (and even by me) but my search fu is weak on these forums.

So, 120 monk with all AAs with Night of Shadows raid weapons (and lots of proc augs).

One handers or (fast) Two hander? I think I've been told the 2 hander is the way to go and I use it but with one handers dropping on raids, I've got a choice here.

It really makes me mad that 2hb is the default for monks and there is not a scenario where DW is an option.

I like choices. I always felt 2hb should be your tanking weapon, and DW your offensive weapon. But that is me.

There was a time that was the case. The issue at present is that there really isn't a way to make DW better without monk only weapons with crazy ratios as well as having the benefits from the AAs be tweaked even more.

I did a parse during CoV using 'extra' ToV ores and from what I remember just using a combat dummy and auto attack the results were really close.

I don't know how the weapon choice would scale up full buffs and discs but my gut feeling ( which means its probably wrong) is to go 2HB.

Would love to see some real parses but I feel all the old school hard core monks have given up and mothballed their monks.

I have latest raid tradeskill 2hb and the h2h / 1hb. I haven't done a parse, but I'm gonna throw it out there that the new ratios on the 1h's really feel like they're doing a bit more DPS with auto attack. So I switch....2hb when I have some disc's up, then switch to 1h when down....it almost feels like a mini knifeplay disc dps increase when I switch to 1h (my other toon is a rogue)

You bando-swap based on what burns you have running.

If you are likely to get hit a 2-hand blunt that is Monk/Beast only is the way to go for the defensive bonus. That said from the rear with two NoS (this expension) H2H weapons the dps is amazing BUT....

Keep in mind that Iksars get less passive H2H overhaste than Humans and Drakkins get. If I had an Iksar I would probably stick with H2H all the time. With the other two it is situational based on what I said above.

monk / bst 2hb is still the best option.

h2h / 2hb are comparable on a dummy with no buffs or discs no nothing, purely auto attack. HOWEVER the moment you introduce any disc or adps such as Speedfocus (or any HHE like Quicktime, ruuabri), ton po, destructive force, zan fi, ecliptic, masters synergy, infusion of thunder, terrorpalm, eye of the storm, epics / glyphs 2hb leaps way ahead.

on top of that, once lag is introduced dual wield takes a massive hit to round attempts furthering the gap between the two with 2hb taking the lead in being better. in no scenario in modern eq (live servers) would i ever use dual wield in its current form.
