Can someone tell me if I'm wrong. Have staff of the dragoon EoK raid 2hb. It has 265 AC. I equip it and I gain 113 mitigation. I equip a 295 AC Shield, and gain 400+ mitigation. Broken? This has been parsed in the past to show the same effect as a shield on Monkly-Business. Perhaps at some point they broke it.
Shields give you their full mitigation. Non-shield items are subject to the ac soft cap. You are gaining less ac from the weapon because it is not a shield.

There isn't the info to make any conclusion. Did you parse 2hb vs shield against the same mob for the same mob? If you are just combining time from your normal play file, then the data is invalid, because you might have spent more time using a shield against harder hitting mobs.
Wasn't my parse, was from another in the link I posted above. I'd testcopy, but it's broken and timing out. Thought this was pretty common "insider knowledge" for monks that having a 2hb equipped somehow lowered average hit. I always had assumed it was because 2hb ac = shield ac but maybe it's something else going on.
That was never a thing so it was never broken. Only defensive bonus for 2hb is staff block. They most likely parsed horribly wrong.
tanks would have LONG ago realized 2h ac gave shield benefits. They use 2h weapons a ton. Those parses are probably what I suggested - combined play time. And the player would have worn a shield when fighting tougher things, so the parse would be biased to begin with.
