He means the server specific rules like Agents of change, bonus rares and random loot will be removed when it reaches live and is consolidated into Firiona Vie

Yeah it couldn't be less of a concern. By then they might even have implemented Classic - PoP AOC for live servers, that's really the sad thing to lose in my opinion. Especially on a free trade server.

Selo wasn't a special ruleset in regards to being radically different than any other EQ server it was different in how it started and it also mentioned that when it caught up to current era it would become I normal live server.

What I mean about this new server staying around is because of the random loot rules. Once it hits live if they keep it around it will lose all of the special TLP rules but keep things like free trade and random loot because that makes it a unique server.

If the server remains popular until it catches up I see no reason why they would want to get rid of it.

Ehhh... Anything is possible I suppose although history has shown that no TLP has made it to live with enough population to consider it "popular" and no tlp has kept any tlp features. I guess we'll find out in 2027 or whenever mischief hits live lol. Unless Dream wants to clarify it ahead of time of course.

Random loot and free trade are not exactly TLP exclusive features and random loot appears to be attracting a lot of attention and that would a good reason to keep it around.

They could keep it around, or they could merge it into FV and start another Free Loot TLP. Mischief 2 - The Re-Randoming

I wish it didn't have free trade. I'm all for the random loot stuff, but free trade is so unpalatable to me that I can't see myself playing at all. Buying raid loot and quest rewards is so profoundly against the spirit of the game and takes away all prestige in obtaining it.

Getting random drops that no one in the group/raid can use and end up rotting because they are no drop would make for some bad gameplay. Random loot and free trade pretty much need to go hand in hand in order to work.

I too am wondering how free trade will affect my desire to play. The carrot in EQ is getting the "best" gear, but if it can be simply bought I think maybe I will get bored faster.

Half the alure is getting items like the sod and giving it to your new friends at level five and he never make it past level 15.

It's going to be hilarious seeing level 20s in an amazing gear.
Finally a server I can waste all those hundreds of Kronos.
