Merchant's Perk Expiration: What happens to Inventory Containers?

So, let's assume I have the Merchant's Perk that grants you Inventory slots 11 and 12.

Let's also assume these two Containers are choc full of stuff.

What happens (or, is supposed to happen) to these bags, and their contents, if and when the Perk expires? For example, if the CC card expires or has been cancelled, thus resulting in CC processing failure and I *assume* cancellation of the Perk?

And, most importantly, has this been tested and verified as working?

From the FAQ they put up Friday the wording indicates things go "inactive" which one would think means" that

the slots with the bags would still show up but be greyed out and not accessible unless you re up the perk

But no conformation or exact wording yet. There seldom is in this game;)

But if your credit card expires there is a chance when they try and bill it that it won't go through or the bank won't forward it to the new card number and they ban you for a chargeback. It usually doesn't happen on expired cards but I have heard of it a few times.

Your scenarios is more probable when the Krono expire cause it seems like no one can do the simple math on those and is always letting the all access status expire.

The stuff inside them will become unusable, but you can pick up the bag if you have room and put it to your normal inventory to re-access the items, or re-buy the perk

Thanks for the replies all. Yes, Krono expiration is probably the more likely scenario, but one that wouldn't apply to me.

It sounds like a good solution: the bag grays out, you can't open it, but, you can move it.

Related: Does anybody know if Find Item works and will search these items even if disabled, and if so, will Grab Item grab from them? Or worse Highlight Item opens the container? If so, nifty exploit workaround... ;-)

Disabled containers can be opened, but the items inside cannot be removed until the bag is moved into an active slot.

Items inside disabled containers will show on Find Item.
Highlight will open a disabled bag and highlight the item.
Grab will not function for items in a disabled container.

Thanks True! Solid job covering all of the edge cases!

    Two more quick follow-up questions:

    1) Even though items can't be grabbed, can they be consumed from a disabled container? For example: arrows upon Range Attack, or Bandages on Bandage?

    2) Can items dropped into Inventory via Auto Equip (or simply looted) go into the disabled Container if it's the only container with open slots? For example, if slots 1 thru 10 were full of non-container items, or, their containers were all full?

    Thanks in advance!

Items should not go into disabled inventory slots via /autoinventory, /claim, loot, or any other method, even if regular inventory is filled.

In most cases items should not be able to be used, consumed, or modified from a disabled slot or container. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Ammo
    • Bandages
    • Fishing Bait
    • Food/Drink/Alcohol (Including stat bonuses)
    • Armor Dye
    • Spell Reagents
    • Tradeskill components
    • Lockpicks
    • Campfires materials
    • Item Spells (Clickies)
    • Add/Remove item augmentations
    • Swap items (e.g. Bandolier)
    • Convert items (e.g. Wishing Lamp)
    • Claim items (e.g. Overseer Collectible Dispenser)
    • Fuse items (Luck)
Our coders worked very hard to try and cover every case and prevent potential problems.
If you encounter a situation whereby you are able to access, use, or otherwise modify items within disabled slots or containers, or any other seemingly unintended inventory behavior, please let us know by submitting a bug report. Thank you!

What will happen to items in the 12 slot Trader Satchels?
Will they be inaccessible until the Perk is active again or can they moved out?
