In the Manage Mercenaries window, the Auto Assist button always shows a status of enabled after zoning or logging in, no matter what the actual status is. This can make it difficult to determine why your merc is not attacking. Easy to reproduce. Turn off Auto Assist in the merc window of a tank or dps merc. Zone once. Note that Auto Assist button appears to be re-enabled, and the Call Assist button is disabled. Note that merc does not assist when you attack a mob. Click Auto Assist button twice (disable, re-enable). Now merc assists. Before zoning, Auto Assist button is disabled: After zoning, Auto Assist button says it's enabled, but it's lying: This has been a bug since Mercs were introduced in 2008.
