That sounds like an out of sync problem. Are other songs working? Have you tried relogging? Im also not clear why you believe its a melody problem and not an issue with snare itself.
Rangers and Druids have "snare". Bards have songs which decrease runspeed amongst other things. Hence why I was asking which song he was attempting to use.
More information is definitely needed. * What is the exact song you're trying to sing? * What is your target (if any)? * What is the exact error message? * Do you get this same error in other zones? * Why do you think this is related to "/melody"? Are you pressing a hotkey with multiple lines? Perhaps a different line in your hotkey is giving the error message. This may well be an issue, but this is like when my mom calls me up and says her computer "isn't right" and expects me to know what she means. Whether you're personally asking for help or just trying to report a bug that could help people in the future. It's important to give at least enough detail so that others can try to reproduce the problem. Sorry for the rant, just seen this a lot lately (and by lately I mean "always").
When I look at my song menu, under utility detrimental there is a category called snare. The songs themselves may not be called snare, but they are snares.
Bards do have snare and I know of at least 1 that requires LOS if not all of them. Not logged in atm to check but I don't know if any of them have recast timer that could maybe cause it. I know there higher level snare songs also cast alot of other songs so you can get the snare resisted but the slow part of it lands etc. I found it was best to use low level snare because it lands better than the higher level ones when I was kiting mobs before I geared back up to solo tank mobs in NoS. Bards are known for having buggy melo and spell gems get locked sometimes when clicking items even instant ones while melo is running. It could have something to do with that.
His stance is that the spell isn't explicitly called snare, and not the commonly accepted definition in this game that any movement reduction spell is a snare.
