I would like to have an item available in the marketplace to purchase that are a place-able expansion placard, so that I can decorate my house or guild hall portals to expansions with the expansion they belong to. These could look like the expansion placards on the achievement window
How about the ability to make a sign (placard) with any text you want and be able to do so, and change the text, by right-clicking the sign? Never mind, I forgot how awful people are and how it would be abused.
I am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but it's at least an example of something similar: The Marketplace via /market has a bunch of paintings showing box art of the various expansions up to just before House of Thule. With HoT and later the Collector editions of the expansions usually come with such a painting in the /claim list. Search for "Painting" in /marketplace to see individual paintings, and also bundles that have 4 expansion painting box arts in one pack for a price discount. Painting Package 1 through 4 are 600 DBC each with 4 paintings each. The individual paintings are priced 200 DBC each.
