Mal`Deth is Recruiting! Tunare Progression Guild!

After a couple weeks of planning and preparation, we are proud to formally open recruitment on the Tunare server! We are doing legitimate, era-restricted progression, beginning from Omens of War and moving on indefinitely. This means, we're enforcing a level cap at 70, we're not allowing defiant gear or other obvious out of era (OOE) stuff, etc. Basically, we're trying to recreate what it was like to raid this content when it was the end game. Obviously, it can't be 100% accurate, but we're going to be the closest that anyone could possibly get. All Classes and Races are open. So why start a new guild on Tunare when there are other progression guilds and a new progression server potentially starting up soon? Simple.

1. There are no other progression guilds on Tunare (i.e. - No competition)
2. Tunare is a populated server. This means we have a Bazaar that is actually useful!!! Tradeskillers rejoice!
3. We're not looking to go all the way back to the beginning of EQ... we kinda wanna move on, get our 2.0's, and see some content beyond GoD.

A crucial difference between MD and most other guilds, is that we will not tolerate drama, -stirrers (I'm sure you've met a few during your time in EQ), or anyone who doesn't abide by the general concept of treating others with respect. We understand that progression is a chance for you to relive content that you've likely experienced with a different guild. However, we're not your old guild. We're gonna do some things differently. That doesn't mean you can't suggest strats, share your opinions, and contribute to the direction and approach of the guild. What it does mean, however, is that we're not going to put up with people who follow the "If it ain't broke, break it" mentality, where they have to try to change functional strategies because their old guild did it differently.

Additionally, the guild environment will not be censored. We are not looking to enforce a RL age requirement or anything, but just be aware that this is an adult guild and you might hear people say bad words once in a while. If this offends you, that's fine and no judgment, but this guild probably won't be the right fit for you.

Our server has a very strong public raiding presence, so you'll be able/encouraged to raid with them, on your high levels, to satisfy your blood lust, provided you meet their requirements (lvl 105). We are looking to create a fun environment here, very low pressure, with a tight core of people who want to relive some awesome EQ raid content. This guild already has a good share of funny, intelligent, helpful people in it. If you are (like me), a returning player, looking to pick up where you left off, and do it in the company of real people instead of mercs, this guild is a fantastic choice.

In no particular order:

1. Great atmosphere. An abundance of really nice, helpful people. There is a lot of hopping on and off this or that character to help people with something, whether it be epic questing or just leveling.

2. People that actually know what they are doing, and are well versed in what EQ *used* to be, before you could just pull everything and overpower the content. If you are missing the days where coordination, CC, and strategies actually mattered, this is the place for you.

3. A laid back policy when it comes to everyday mundane things. There is just no uptight/stress about day to day goings on, just the opposite, it's actually been "fun", even doing something as simple as leveling together.

4. Fairly entertaining teamspeak. It's awesome to log on, fire up your character, and be instantly greeted by an active voice channel. I don't think I've been in game yet where I wasn't headed off to do something within a few minutes of logging on.

TLDR: Awesome people, Great era of EQ to explore, people that know what they are doing (excluding me in most cases), Helpful, FUN.

Things are coming along nicely for us. We've been post farming to gear up new players, Starting to work on our Epic 1.5's and doing some group MPG Trials just to get us started. Activity is going well and there always seems to be a group or 2 of people online during prime time plus their boxes.

Just a quick update from over the weekend. Welcome to the 8 new applicants we've tagged this weekend (And a greetings to the 3 others who's app'd this morning but still need tagged). We've been getting so much attention and applications lately its like a full time job just trying to get to know everyone, but as they say thats a good problem to have.

Grats to our newly promoted Full members also, they are a perfect fit for our guild and we're happy to have them handing around and giving Octavian a hard time. =D

Activity is up and a number of us are well on our way to getting our 1.5 epic quest done. An extra shout out to the members who came out and helped me with a series of group fights for my 1.5 last night. Tonight I think we're planning another Tacvi post-farm run to help gear some of the newer people.

Interested in joining. Returning player here stopped off from raiding in OoW but been in and around here and there to lvl toons up. Just one question is there a certain class needed over others in your high demand section to finish building for raid? As of right now thinking between 4 classes Druid, Ranger, SK, and Cleric, i have never been on a raid as a Cleric or SK though so would be a fun challenge.

It's funny that you listed those four classes because they're all in our "High Demand" class bracket. Any one of those would make a fantastic addition to our guild. If you're up to the challenge, and believe me it is definitely a challenge, Clerics and SK's are incredibly rewarding. They both demand an extremely high level of focus and skill but, as someone who has raided both classes extensively, I can tell you they're both a blast!

Our Raid Schedule is Finalized!

We will be raiding at the following times:

Thursday Evenings: 9 PM - 12 AM

Sunday Evenings: 6 PM - 9 PM

We may find the need for additional raid times in the future, but for now this will be our working raid schedule. It is important to note that we are still not raiding at this time, but we have enough people in the guild to figure out what nights will work for our tanks/healers/officers so far, and so we wanted to get this information to you all as quickly as we could. Please make sure that these times work for you (at least one of them) before applying to the guild!

Aside from getting our raid times figured out, the guild has been progressing in other ways! We've been steadily receiving an app or two each day and we're looking at the reality of raids being just around the corner for us now! Our first raid content will be the MPG Trials, which will grant us access to the Citadel of Anguish! (Yeah, we know... you don't need the trials anymore... we're doing it for the fun. Is that OK with you?!?!) Most members are done with their signets and we're now working on MPG group trials together!

Epic Update...

Well, Mal`Deth has certainly been busy lately! We rolled out tonight and, in the span of three hours, completed three more epic 1.5's for our members! Our members are working hard and we're making sure that their efforts in their epic quests are met with the support which they need to take down the bigger fights. Plenty more where that came from!

Aside from epics, our members are wrapping up their signet farming and group MPG trials. I had the pleasure of taking down three more MPG group trials tonight with some fellow guildies and everyone is working together incredibly well! Everyone is happy, except those poor... poor mobs.

The applications are rolling in (typically 1-2 per day) and the recruiting officers are doing a kick job at keeping the whole process organized and easy on the new recruits.

Speaking of applications, you should totally apply!!! Unless you're a Monk or a Necromancer >.>

Class Needs have been updated on the main page. We've had a huge influx of applicants in the past 24 hours and we've made the necessary adjustments. Please make sure to check what classes we need when considering your application. Currently, we are not recruiting Monks or Necromancers.

So many epics... so many epics. Members are banging out these epics left and right. We are even knocking out 2.0 fights like it ain't no thang. We have a few members who only need their orbs now, so you know what that means... it's gonna be time to start raiding soon! We're approaching the conclusion of our signet/trial farming and we'll probably be looking to begin MPG raid trials in the next few weeks.

Please check our needed classes before applying! Currently, our highest need is Shaman, however we also need BRD/CLR/DRU/SK/WIZ more than other classes. Currently, MAG and ROG are closed. Once we've been raiding for a while and are able to gear up our current mains, we will consider reopening the closed class sections.

Boxing is allowed and encouraged! If you're rocking a DPS as your main and want to help patch heal, go for it. Just don't put yourself in a situation where you feel overwhelmed.

Leadership roles are filling up. We're getting close to the mark on Recruiting and Raid Officers, but could still use one more of each. However, Class Leaders are still in demand right now.

Come join us and have fun OOE (out of era/high level) toons are welcome also, but you just won't be able to raid Omens with us.

- Healers Wanted! -

At this time, Mal`Deth is really pulling in the numbers. We're at the point that most guilds reach when trying to build a raid force: Very few people seem to be playing healer mains these days. As such, it's pretty much the last piece of the puzzle that we're waiting on before raids kick off in Omens of War!

If you are a Cleric, Druid, or Shaman - We want you! We do not have a level requirement to join and so long as you can make our raids, we're fine with you having toons in other guilds.

Please read the "Guild Charter" at www.maldeth.com before applying. It is crucial that you understand and agree to abide by our rules before joining. Most notably, all defiant/other OOE gear must be removed before joining the guild.

Just because healers are our current top priority, doesn't mean that we aren't accepting other classes. Currently, all classes are open, but please check our "Class Needs" section on the home page before applying to get a better idea of what we really need.

Class Needs Updated! Please check before applying!

We are starting to award DKP! Now is the time to apply if you want to start earning DKP with the rest of the guild! Raids will likely be starting up in the next couple of weeks. Until then, we are using our raid nights for events such as epic kills and MPG group trials.

Tonight was our first night of awarding DKP. We had over 20 mains online and we rolled out to take down some epic fights for guildies. In the end, we finished up about five epics for people tonight and did not rely on mercs to get the job done. The crew is coming together quite nicely!

Recruitment has gone well the past few weeks (18 new recruits since 4/8 alone). Many of our highly needed classes are starting to fill in and we've started awarding DKP for events held on what is to become our Official Raid nights. With such great recruiting results its clear that there are many people out there looking for OoW Progression, and we are making great strides in getting these new recruits leveled up and geared with many members having their 1.5's or at least well on their way to getting it.

We still have plenty of openings for Clerics, Druids, Paladins, SK's and Wizards. Other classes are open too with the only exception being Warriors which is currently closed.

We've reached a point where we can afford to bump a few more classes up to medium demand. Join now while the gettin's good!

As of this posting, the Warrior class section is still closed (7 Warrior mains is a bit excessive) but we will consider making an exception for a stellar applicant (lvl 70, max AA, can make both raid nights, and is an experienced raid tank).

The Cleric section is finally starting to fill out. We're up to 7 active Cleric mains right now. The Druid section is lagging behind a bit at 3 mains, so if you're a Dr00d we want y00!
