Mage Focus Guide

    I've decided to play the DPS roll for my buddy's group on the Selo's TLP server.

    Mage is my choice! (Woop woop). After reading up on all the guides out there, every one seems to be writing 110 guides and it looks absurdly confusing with the amount of abilities / spells every class gets.

    I'm looking to catch up on the BASICS of focus item knowledge for the mage class.

    Do I need to have the item equipped pre-cast to get the pet buffed? then I can put the item away? Are certain focus items for just specific pets? Will the TLP servers have vendors selling some OP focus gear or should I go for the
    Broom of Trilon / Shovel of Ponz / Stein of Ulissa / Torch of Alna


    And finally is there a website / excel sheet somewhere that shows every focus item in the game to get, in order? I can check eqitems.com I'm sure
