Mage and Necro and Enc teleport abilities

Being pure casters, isn't it about time we three also got secondary recall?
Currently mages can bind, and pok portal with summoned talisman. Which requires a reagent.

Not asking for group teleport spells. Just secondary recall so that I can bind in Guild lobby (don't have Throne of Heroes, not so priviledged). And bind in my favorite hard to get to haunt. As pure casters our survivability reaching hard to get to spots makes going there discouraging.

We promise not to abuse the priviledge. I don't even care if you drain 50% of my mana pool to do it!

I'd also like a watered-down version of Call of the Hero. Just enough to get the group together or pick up a replacement. Maybe a long casting time and 30 min reuse timer?

Don't forget Origin. Everyone gets that these days, for free.

For your stated goal, it's already achievable with the Primary Anchor packages. That will let you port to your chosen anchor location (house or guild hall), both of which are only one zone from the lobby. I actually prefer the guild hall to the lobby in most cases, but that's just me.

That's how i have been doing it. Using origin.

Between origin, primary/secondary anchors, pok talisman and gate I think we are ok in that department. Speaking from a mage perspective.

I'm not that big a fan of farming out abilities. Also, if you have a 30 minute reuse then it's not really going to get a group together quickly.

Pretty sure that was said by a wizard to make a point that different classes have skills that should not be farmed out. Mage wants something that was unique to a Wizard and thinks its fine but if a Wizard wants something like CoH that is a unique to the Mage he doesn't think its such a good idea.
  8. Voragath Augur

Druids have the same ability. It is not unique to wizards.
  9. Hatestorm Lorekeeper

No kidding but that wasn't really my point. Mage's don't have it just like Wizard's don't have CoH.
  10. Potawatomi Augur

Actually, Qwest is an enchanter who has previously asked for CoH. So no, he is not pointing out anything other than himself wanting CoH. I want nothing from any class. Personally I am quite happy with Mages and where we are at. Furthermore, what did I ask for that was previously a Wizard ability? From rereading my post it's unclear seeing as the two were statements and not requests.

There's a reason no one else has CoH. It's nothing to do with farming out abilities. If you've followed Eli's commentary on it you'll note he's not a big fan of it to begin with (which is why there isn't a reverse CoH).

CoH apparently is about skipping content (not my opinion, btw) whereas porting and secondary bind is about traveling about.

CoH is a class defined ability whereas teleporting is more archetypal. Also, nbd if secondary bind and recall is relegated to the "mage only" unlike wizards and druids doing the whole group (that is my opinion).

They've also said that they're unhappy with Feign Death, and now just about everyone gets it. Crowd control has also been farmed out. Giving some classes a watered-down CoH would not hurt Mages ability to join groups and raids like giving lots of classes CC abilities has done to Enchanters.

The idea is not to exploit content, but merely to help players group with other real players more easily, which it seems to me is of paramount importance in an MMO. It's often one player in the group that can't reach Pillars of Alra on their own, or a group wants to continue when a player leaves the group and they pop a merc since getting a real player to their location isn't feasible because they're deep in a dungeon or some such.

I have a Mage on a third account that I regularly use as one of my boxes. The convenience factor of having the Mage with COTH makes my life a lot easier instead of running 3 toons to one spot. However, in the 11 years before I had the mage, I managed just fine. Even if my class has had abilities farmed out, that does not mean I want to take from others. Some things should remain unique.

You can literally get just about ANYWHERE now with no risk provided no named is directly in your path. You can double up perfected invis and IVU and run anywhere in ROF without a care in the world (save BG eggs and named like I said). On another note, a large portion of Druids/Wiz are going to have all of their port spells and likely be sitting around in the lobby to zephyr you to pillars. Why don't we just go ahead and put a PoK stone to NToV in game?!

As I also have a Druid, I feel the ability to port entire *groups* of people is a class defining ability (along with wizards). However, I'd be all for getting secondary recall as an Enchanter as I don't consider it farming out anyone's ability - it's a gate. Half the classes in game inherently have gate and those that don't can buy a potion/AA/whatever to get it. Since it is a solo gate, it only benefits yourself and does not infringe on Wizard or Druid territory.

This really is more of a convenience factor than anything else but it would definitely be worth a shot trying to get Secondary Recall if the opportunity arises.

Yes, Please. Or a stone on the GH vendor.

No ty for binds/teleports, I would like an evac of sorts though.

Magicians can port themselves to pok, so anywhere we can bind we can gate to then use POK and get back to lobby in like 3minutes.
  16. Silv Augur

You just made the argument for Enchanters getting some sort of gate/evac ability and no one else getting anything! Wiz have it all, mages have the PoK gate, and necros have Levant. Poor Enchanters get squat. Half joking here.

It would be nice to have Secondary Recall as mentioned above. Even with mages having PoK gate... they would still benefit from SR I think.

OPer here. I tried buying Primary Anchor, but I'm too dumb to get it to work. Do I need to buy something from the Station Store to get access? The error mssg I get is "you do not have placementt access." I tried planting the anchor in someone's yard in the neighborhoods, the GuildHall, to no avail.

What else is needed? I don't have any interest in buying my own real estate and building my own house. That sounds dumb and not in the spirit of why I play EQ.

Btw even with the ability to port to the anchor in the neighborhood, 1 zone away from Guildlobby, I still much prefer to have 2ndary recall.
  18. Nylrem Augur

Your guild leader could give you permission/access to place it in your GH (provided you have a large 'special' type guild hall), or you have to place it in a yard. You do not have to also purchase a house, you can just place the anchor in any yard that YOU own, or have access rights to, however, only one anchor is allowed per yard, so if you have a friend that would grant you access, and allow you to place the anchor in his/her yard, they would not also be able to place an anchor in that yard.
  19. Gladare Augur

I have both my anchors in my yard.

Because pok is the same thing as an evac? Lol

Wiz and nec have evac. Mages should get something like that. Considering when our pet dies we are toast and our fade currently is pet based...

Let dru/wiz keep porting. Unnecessary for others to get it especially with the guild hall IMHO.
