Luminous restless ice and New Banestrike ability

    Due to the New Banestrike upgrades I thought it would be good to Clarify exactly what type of Damage was intended to be Upgraded. For example the Luminous Restless Ice description Says, Improves the power of your lvl 120 and lower Damaging and healing abilities by 10 percent.
    Well this is quite Obviously incorrect. I play a monk and my healing abilities havent increased by 10 percent Nor have my Procs or Direct damage skills. Curse of the 16 Shadows description Normally procs for 400084 HPs of Damage, and with Luminous restless Ice and Banestrike abilites it still Procs for the exact same. I could post more examples but i believe that would be superfluous. Any ideas on why these supposed Modifiers dont increase Monk Damage as intended?

    It's called EQ math. It's almost never a flat 10% because of the way things are modified before the final numbers we see on the screen.

    Think of it this way a mob with a 1% chance to spawn on a 100% increase rare spawn weekend nets 2%. Not as exciting as an increased 100% chance to spawn sounded.

    Looking at the above description, the Sixteen Shadows effect is not focusable.

    Thanks for taking the time to do some reasearch and Help out!!. It would seem that the description of Luminous restless ice at the very least is inaccurate. Since it says lvl 120 and Lower and Curse is indeed a lvl 118 Ability, it seems they Mislabeled what these Modifiers actually do.

    Ive had banestrike maxed for a long time now, so when the change went to test server I did a /testcopy to see how much different it would be. I gained only 3% dps. And actually the banestrike gain was less than that because part of that gain was from the heroic aa fix. This was on a bard. Could be different on another class but I doubt it.

    So after Completing the 2nd Tab of SLayer and getting the additional Banestrike boost, i have done extensive parseing of Crush, Strike and Kick Damage. The Boost from all 3 matched up evenly to a .7 percent increase from each ability. I am not sure how this is considered to be coded correctly. Anyone have Similar Numbers to share?

    It's cause eq math is weird and overly complex. Maxed banestrike will add 10% to a "part" of the damage equation, and then the rest gets calculated. Resulting in a smaller increase than listed.

    This isn't new, most damage increasing effects work the exact same way.

    Except Banestrike is not even modifying some "focusable" abilities (mainly AAs)

    I posted about a week or so ago in https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq...to-all-healing-and-damaging-abilities.289648/ and such focusable AA abilities like Turn Undead, Celestial Regeneration, (well I guess Abundant Healing says not focusable but the others are "focusable")

    But regardless the Banestrike aa lists no restrictions on spell level or excluded abilities in its description

    I'm actually curious why this is working on bards at all, it definitely is, I'm just surprised. As far as I'm aware there is a cap on SPA 413 for bard songs and it shouldn't add anything, which I thought was the reason restless ice focus doesn't add anything.

    That's the reason it's so weak for you though, you are going from a 340% increase to a 350% increase at max banestrike. Most other classes have very little SPA 413 stuff so they are getting much better increases.

    depends on what SPA they are using, i haven't looked into that part of it at all.
