"Loot Lockout" - What is it's purpose? A critique.

    Indeed Jain - I forget if I used the term earlier in the thread - but "Keep It Simple Stupid" is a common mantra for a reason.... which the current system has completely ignored.

    And while some stuff (like not allowing late invites) can be done to help reduce some of the extends locks, others happen seemingly at random from stuff like rezzing/death. (Perhaps mob kills while waiting to release even - so many elements to "death" on a raid)

    That's what's confusing to me. Like you originally asked, what's the purpose here? For PoTime, the short lockout on Phase 1 is obvious: You can return and do Phase 1 early, before your lockout is up on the rest of Time.

    So I could maybe understand if the Classic expeditions had two lockouts, a 3 day "Zone - Trash" lockout and a 6.5 day "Zone - Boss" lockout. That would at least make sense. Loot lockout? Who knows.

    And speaking for myself here. But I'd be far happier if mobs don't drop loot that they just not spawn at all. Maybe leave a fraction for charming but it's exceptionally punitive to have to clear an entire Fear with no loot to make a CT attempt...

    I also don't see anyone ever answered Absor's questions here. These are what I consider the "boss mobs" in the Classic expeditions:

    1. Kedge Keep - Phinigel Autropos
    2. The Old Ruins of Paineel - Master Yael
    3. Permafrost Keep - Lady Vox
    4. Nagafen's Lair - Lord Nagafen
    5. The Plane of Hate - Innoruuk
    6. The Plane of Fear - Cazic Thule
    7. The Plane of Sky - thunder spirit princess, Protector of Sky, Gorgalask, Keeper of Souls, Spiroc Lord, Bazzt Zzzzt, Sister of the Spires, Eye of Veeshan, Noble Dojorn, Overseer of Sky, the hand of Veeshan

    Does the dev team have a different list?

    I'd possibly include minis like draco, golems in such a list myself too.

    Basically anything MotM or DT.

    Minis are not bosses. they even have a different name that everyone calls them...minis.

    if they are going to complicate things up with different times on multiple lockouts, there should be a distinction.

    i dont really know why they feel the need to make these lockouts all kinds of fubar still.

    Agreed. In my opinion the only reason to have different lockouts is if they are on obviously different content. For example, maybe tier the Sky islands and efreeti cycle so they are on different lockout timers. As in, something like this:
    • Island 1 – 2.5 days
    • Islands 2 & 3 – 3.5 days
    • Islands 4 & 5 – 4.5 days
    • Islands 6 & 7 – 5.5 days
    • Island 8/efreetis – 6.5 days

    Am I saying this is how Sky should be? No, I'm not. I'm just saying this would make more sense.
