I’m having trouble finding a good place to solo without catching aggro, I’m a returning player and I know it’s not as easy to find a group as it once was. Can anybody give me some tips on how to be a better mage? What pet is the best pet to use while soloing and what should my spell lineup be? Is there any hot keys that so should be using that aren’t often discussed? I’ve tried a few zones, but the only places I can find to level are all lower than me and the xp is a grind. Everybody is kind in the game but also everyone has their way to blow through these levels and as a returning player I can’t? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!!
Epic pet is the best pet until I believe either 61 or 66. If you don't have epic, then air or earth would be your tank pets. Think of earth like a Warrior (high HP, high AC, consistent damage all the time, low avoidance) and your air pet like a monk (more DPS, more avoiding hits, spiky damage). Also get the best pet focus earring you can get.
