I think its something to do with achievements thats causing it, if there are any achievement spam it causes chat lag until it displays it.
Horrible raid lag tonight on Drinal after this weeks patch, first raid night tonight. Every raid, instance, spell casting, global refresh all in the dumps. Usually its an event or instance here or there for me at least. Its everything now.
Yes, I can attest to the lag. It was about the same for me *during* the event, but after the win, holy moly lag o matic!

And in the 2 minutes between receiving 'Named Bits' and 'Points', the instance was lagged to all hell, tells and channels didn't work, all communication was frozen. Everything un-froze the moment we received 'Points'. And it's happening in every single raid now. Win - Bits - LAG - Points.
The October update included additional logging. If this issue is still happening to your group, can you PM me the time/date of the lag, which server, and which zone/raid you encountered the issue in? Thanks!
its definitely still happening, we had one particularly bad one last night. I'll see if I can dig up some timestamps etc and send them over.
Can also confirm this is still happening, on every ToL raid apparently. Definitely Zelnithak, Netherbian Swarm Commander, Doomshade, Aten Ha Ra, and Shei Vinitras. Those were the ones we did last night, and they all exhibited the large lag spike when we won the event. Spike happens between event completion and the guild achievement announcements. All text is delayed, including chat channels. Seems to be worse if there are more achievements to check/award, but that could be anecdotal.
If you encounter a long delay at the end of a raid event, please let us know the time, timezone, raid event, and server you were playing on. Anything that happens in the instance, messages, ports, anything simply stops from the reward until the first message appears in guildchat. Usually that lag is close to two minutes long, but there is definitely some variance as you can see above.
We've added some more diagnostic logging to try to figure out this issue, but it's been very elusive. Couple questions: - Has anyone seen this delay happen if no one in the raid died, zoned, or logged off? - If more people are dead does the delay get longer, or is it a random duration?
We've definitely had the lag without people dying/logging off. I cannot comment on zoning, as I can't confirm that from logs. This is what I do know: The delay applies whether or not the reward script runs on your character. This means you can leave the dz prior to the event dying, not get the reward, and experience the same lag as someone who receives the reward. However, the length of the delay is a function of the number of people receiving the reward. This means if many people leave the dz prior to completion (and, therefore, do not receive the reward), the lag for everyone declines substantially, including the people receiving the reward.

This lag is still happening. It does not seem to matter if anybody is dead, dc, or zoning. Most of the time in our raids, nobody is dead or dc, everybody is in the zone, and we get this lag every time. It definitely has to do with achievements. The more achievements are completed by the more people - the longer is the delay. The easiest way to reproduce it in the current expansion is the Door (Shadow Haven) raid. In a typical win there, you get all 3 achievements. And a significant delay at the end, especially with 50+ players in the raid.
On which server and in what era are you getting Doomshade to spawn? He's been broken for a year or more. Thanks.
