Lo & behold, thus unravels the first thread ever to discuss this topic...

Its a name. Names dont follow english rules of pronunciation. Devs created the name therefore devs win.

    (I'm still calling it looclin :p )

It wasn't until my first experince of "voice chat" raiding that I ever heard anyone pronounce Luclin at all, hearing it from other players for the first time was a strange experience, a whole lot of people were saying it in a whole lot of different ways and actually very few were saying it as Luck-Lin.

Change is harder for some than others.

Just for fun, I wanted to see how a text to speech would pronounce Luclin. The funny women's voice told me luck lin. I took away the second "l," so "Lucin," and she told me Lou sin. She's probably just programmed with the rule of c.

    Most certainly.

Along with a whole lot of other language rules without which text to speech would sound completely ridiculous. Computers are better at following rules than people are.

English isn't that nice sadly. Find a male friend named Sean and ask him to pronounce his name. Think it will rhyme with Mean or Bean? Nope, he will pronounce it SHAWN.

I'll just keep calling it the moon.
