There's too much platinum on the server for it to mathematically make sense. If a single guild - one of the many large guilds being supported on Mischief - has moved 5 billion platinum around in POP alone, how much plat do you think is on that server reasonably? Do you think that's all the platinum and nobody else has platinum? I'd say it's maybe 1/4 of the total platinum and that's being very generous. It's probably even less.

On AVERAGE, for a server to have that much platinum, each account would have to generate hundreds of thousands of platinum into existence. It's just not possible for every single account on mischief to generate 500k+ of raw platinum as a monthly average. Since the average player most assuredly doesn't farm nearly that much, the difference has to be offset somewhere. Are you going to argue that each bot group was able to magically farm more raw plat on Mischief than any other server? Do the laws of plat generation cease to exist on Mischief's server?

I think if it was possible for that much plat to happen organically it would happen on other servers at the sameish rate. So it was either a dupe or something related to free trade. I guess a third possibility could be whatever is creating this much plat is new and the next TLP will see the same economy. Time will tell I suppose.

All I see in favor of a plat dupe is claims of one on the forum and no action by Daybreak to remove any of that ill gotten plat from the server. If there was a plat dupe why was no action taken to remove it?

To be fair Daybreak not taking action doesn't really rule anything out, there are lots of blatant things that they should action but don't.

The investigated and all actions went unannounced. You realize DPG doesn't normally announce bans/suspensions/anything, right? Your argument is the equivalent of saying EQ has no botters because DPG hasn't banned them all and announced it, but anyone with at least one functioning eyeball and half a brain can go out and find a botter with relative ease.

If you want to live in the cave and view your own reality still that's fine, but rest assured, Plato explains there is another reality that everyone else sees and understands. All you got to do is unshackle yourself and climb out.

You're just denying simple facts. How is it that Mischief somehow has millions and millions of more plat than any other TLP server to date? There have been TLPs with just as large, if not larger, population. The ways of farming raw plat haven't been drastically altered due to free trade. You're still going to go to the normal locations. Are these locations suddenly dropping 4x the plat/gems/stuff?

By not taking everything posted on this forum as Gospel? I still fail to see how Daybreak would have failed to remove all the excess plat that people claimed was dupped.

The same can be asked for those who keep pushing the plat dupe line as well.

There is a considerably higher amount of plat on the server... but I believe it is mostly due to the fact that free trade allows items with no vendor value to be sold(high quality gear items) to other players so that what would be 'good twink gear' on another server ends up being vendor fodder. Except a lot of that stuff sells for high plat values. Add in the increase in rare spawns and drops, and you have a lot more free plat with the items being traded primarily having no vendor value themselves. You can see the exact same inflationary process in action on Firiona Vie.

This may be news, but these aren't the only sources of information. You don't need to rely on these forums to determine validity or not, especially when you have in game proof of large amounts of platinum flying around with krono prices multiple times higher than any server to date. You have people documenting and providing proof that kronos were being bought for prices that were literally impossible to have via legitimate means because the server wasn't around long enough for that much plat to be physically farmed.

Don't forget Mischief reached this point much quicker than Aradune/Mangler etc due to some expansion releases being shorter than previously before. So yeah, I agree.. something's up.

Perhaps? But I still don't see how this "free plat" was created in the first place. All of these no-drop items can't be vendored.

Entrench that skull of yours in the sand. The dupe only worked on a specific patch and eventually the conspirators were caught and instantly banned.

Did you think this idea out at all? You think DBG would go nuclear and remove the excess, tainted plat throughout the game that's now being held by innocent players? What do you think the reaction would be if little timmy logs in and all of a sudden his account is currency free?

Ugh, there are two sides to pricing and one is scarcity. If there's a Krono scarcity then there's going to be higher prices for Krono. If asking prices get too high then they'll have to come down like maybe...100k???

Price of krono went up 30k in the last couple of hours and only like 20 Krono left in the bazaar are we sure the dupe isn't back?

Most people that keep up with things know there was a plat dupe. Having 500m plat in early kunark isnt possible. There is no amount of mental gymnastics that makes it possible. Having said that, realize who you guys are arguing with. One of them is basically a nobody who clearly doesnt really know anything and the other is one of the absolute worst posters on the forum.

You know nothing about economics or basic math.
