OR (and follow me here), do you really think that if his entire guild knew how to do it, not one person abused it so badly that they had to do a rollback? Not one. single. person. took it too far. Yup.. OR there was no dupe in the first place and there is just a LOT more plat active in the economy of a server where everything is tradable.

Then again maybe your right and .. say the Krono prices on The Rathe are exactly the same as they are on Firona Vie. Wait.. they aren't? the FV prices are way higher? must be a huge plat dupe there too, better get on that....

A dupe being abused would explain the massive increase in krono prices.

It's not an argument though; it's stating facts. But please provide us your wrong assumption on where the massive amount of platinum generated on mischief, tb, ect came from. I'm sure you have something that hasn't already been suggested?

There was no higher raw plat farming on Mischief than prior servers. If anything, Mangler had more of the "professional" plat farming crews setup and their krono were nowhere near the levels of Mischief.

Yeah, there's no chance that there was enough raw plat farmed legitimately to justify krono prices in comparison to prior servers.

Aradune had probably the most players of a server ever (like actual individual players) with nothing better to do given it came out at the height of the pandemic and lockdowns and such, and kronies were like JUST BARELY hitting 20k by the end of PoP.

Mangler had literally unchecked bot armies in every pick of every plat farming spot 24/7 completely unhindered the entire length of Classic to PoP. If you think that Mischief has more raw plat farmed than that server, you're absolutely unhinged. You can find threads of people complaining about the 16 necromancers parked on hill giant hill for 3+ months 24/7

480k is 4x that of what Aradunes currently is and there's no way there should be enough raw plat on the server to make that a viable price without a plat dupe.

I don't disagree that there were potentially more people farming platinum than other servers due to the ruleset, but nowhere near enough to account for the increase that was seen as others have said.

Even the Siren's Grotto farmer posted his little charts here showing exactly when the influx started occurring almost to the day. The krono cost was basically inline with every server up until the end of Kunark, which was only 3 month's into the servers life whereas normally that'd be like 6 months.

I think what a lot of people aren't thinking about is the same person who sold you an item for XXX plat, is the one buying krono too. Its just passing the same plat around. Again, if you have proof of a plat dupe, post it.

I've yet to see anything from DPG, or any proof at all of a plat dupe. People can make whatever claims they want, only DPG knows for sure and in the past they've been pretty quick to roll back when exploits are abused.

Also, if there is/was a plat dupe, why did prices go down at all? If plat is free to dupe, just make more and buy all the krono for sale. Clearly there isn't unlimited free plat at play here.

People love conspiracy theories that have no proof at all... I still say it was the Krono fairy. (and note, my account has exactly 0 krono attached to it. None. Homey, generally, don't play that. (I think lifetime I've bought a dozen from DPG over the years.. maybe a dozen more with plat here and there)).

Sure, but it is a lot harder to buy no drop raid gear when you might need flags to get in and buying a tradeable item in what ever trade area the server is currently using. Not to mention people are more likely to sell raid drops that they don't need when it is tradeable and they can sell it after looting it.

And it should be noted what I was referring to there was group/open world raid drops that can be easier to get buyers to then a raid where you have to juggle adding people to an instance or getting them to travel to a raid zone that takes time to get there.

There probably was more plat farming on Mischief, but let's be serious. Do you think Mischief had that many more plat farmers that Krono prices are 4-5x the cost as servers a year older? Also, a guild is advertising how they had something like 5 billion plat flow through them during POP. And that's just a single guild on the server.

If one guild controls 5 BILLION plat, how much do you think there is reasonably? 15 billion? 20 billion? If there are 5,000 unique accounts on Mischief, at 20 billion plat, each account would have to average something like half a million platinum a month for 9 months the server has been up. Do you seriously think that amount of plat farming is possible as a baseline average for the entire community? And this is giving a pretty generous account number. I doubt there are 5,000 accounts on Mischief. It's probably closer to 3-4k.

Considering there is likely a much higher demand for krono on the server and there is no real plat sink to remove it at the current time I think it is possible. Seems pretty easy for the people selling the korno to build up a plat reserve to buy other korno and jack up the price.

Where can I go to farm 500k a month in PoP or earlier casually? Because for that math to work every single account has to be able to do it.

A single player doesn't have to be farming 500k a month and we do know that there are bot groups that have been farming cash drops on this and other TLP servers. Need to stop looking at it just from the solo player perspective and realize that it s an accumulation of everyone who is brining plat into the game.

You realize it's almost physically impossible to farm that much raw plat in any expansion Mischief or Riz has seen, right? And the players that are coming close to that number are bot groups and that's dispersed over multiple accounts so it's not a per account basis. Bot armies would have to be churning out like 3 mil plat a month per bot group on average and that's also accounting for the fact every regular/casual player is acquiring the same amount of raw plat as them. If the average player just acquires 100k a month that means 400k has to come from another source to maintain that average. I seriously think you don't understand or underestimating the amount of plat that is.

My math is per account average. It goes up as you have more characters. A regular person boxing two chars would have to grind out 1 mil plat a month. And I'm not talking about acquiring raid items and selling them for plat. That doesn't generate raw plat. Raw plat needs to either come from NPC dropping coins, items sold to vendors, quest rewards, etc. In classic - velious farming a mil plat a month as a regular player? Lmao good luck. You need serious automation for that.

Did I ever claim it was a single person farming the plat or the result of everyone on the server farming it and the people selling the krono accumulating enough plat to start controlling the market?
