Is the website in need of a vacation?

The forums were down for a bit earlier today. I pinged it and got three down arrows. It is back up and pages are still taking far too long to load. I might also add that lots of news websites are also VERY slow to load over the last few months.

So...perhaps the forum hamsters need a vacation. Any thoughts as to where they could go to get back their strength? Bora Bora? Fiji? El Centro? Petco?

Possibility, but I don't know. Perhaps the now old internet architecture just isn't up to the task anymore. I think our alien overlords should step and help. If they won't help, I can always blame the halflings, who are NOT dwarves.

Its the solar activity going on. Was a major solar storm a few days ago and its continuing so there is still stuff shooting around out there.

I have issues spring and fall every year due to solar flares which interfere with tv signal because of where the sun rotates.

However the slowness on EQ forum is not related, been like this before the storm. You will notice in the game the Overseer is doing it's freezing again and there are other random stutters. But we will have to wait for it to totally break before they try to fix it.

Some posters add too many videos to their posts and it’s making everything slow.

its been slow since before the banwave, though I wouldn't put it beyond the trash adding to it because they are salty. Its sad they're so bad at the game they need to cheat to play it.

As the connection problems do exist since weeks, something big is going on that does affect the whole web. I don't think that it has anything to do with a solar storm, which seems to be a typical red herring to conceil something, by giving the masses of people an explanation, to which they should believe -> mind control. It is not CatsPaws fault, she just grabbed it up.

Of course there could be a specific forums problem in addition. DDOS attacks from banned cheaters and haters could be a possible reason, but we don't know. EQ players can be quite fanatic. Anyone remembers when a hacker managed to delay Smed's airplane flight ?

The solar storm is far more likely than disgruntled players staging a coup. Or lets just say the Everquest game and forum server connections as a whole is weak and subject to hot air blowing out of someone's rear end! (not yours)

It's the new anti-cheat AI they're using. The forum has to be paused after each post so the AI can analyze the text for hidden clues.

Should I be scared because I almost believed this at first?

I just assume they downgraded the hardware hosting the forums to save money. They've been sluggish for a couple of weeks at least.

Or a few server hamsters died because the devs were to busy for feeding them ...
