Tarrin is (for the most part) mathematically correct in regard to focus items.

Actually no. Focus is a multiplier of damage. You can't simply subtract one from the other. To see the actual damage difference you must divide 73.5 by 58 to get a true representation. That comes to 26.7% not 15.5%, and doesn't include additional damage bonuses like crits, higher damage from raid buffs, extra stats from spell damage raid stats give, etc. Factor in all that, average it out and you will find the effective damage mod will be even higher than that 26.7% figure. Too many numbers, I don't even like math! lol

Cassidia, Glad to see you're still here.

Fendy linked to your post from a year ago stating you were leaving, glad you've not left!

Mordeen, I've never heard that description before from anyone. It's always been a subtraction (though it's a subtraction on both the low end and high end and then averaged and not just the actual averages subtracted from each other since it's not using the same scale references).

Considering weapons alone for melee are approximately group weapon does 70 percent of a raid weapon damage for the same tier, 20 percent is a very low number. If you also take that 20 percent better for twenty to twenty two slots then you are coming out to a huge difference over filling all slots with raid gear versus group gear. Then you add in the added bonus of focus effects which only makes it that much more of a gap.You make some intelligent posts on here tarrin. Don't try to down play the huge disparity in group and raid gear please.

    A 20% difference in one slot. A 20% difference across 20 slots. It's still a 20% difference.
