Instance Raids..Please

What makes you think it's 'your sandbox'? Maybe it's 'my sandbox' and we need instanced content. Nothing was guaranteed when the server started. They'll change the game how they see fit to please the most people, not those unemployed people who can raid 3 times a day.
  2. Edrixx Lorekeeper

Wow, really? You really took 'my sandbox' in that way? You want to use it literally to but you know full well how I meant it.

These servers were promoted as non instanced and non enforced rotations. There is no denying that whatsoever. DBG heard your cries (Since you take everything literal, I don't mean real QQ as it's just a phrase for a call for change) and they are creating a server to appease your play style.

As for this lovely tidbit "not those unemployed people who can raid 3 times a day." - You'd actually be surprised how much time is needed to have a high raid attendance in a guild that kills nearly everything. Time spent in EQ to kill every boss in a week is probably less than 5 hours.
  3. Lee81 Augur

Yeah, you'd be surprised how many people is required to be within a guild to tag raid npcs on a 24/7 schedule.

Lee, you're sperging out in like 4 different threads now. We get it. You have all these responsibilities that prevent you from playing video games but do not prevent you from crying about them on the forums.

Actually, I prefer that these two servers go FFA. They should remain exactly like classic EQ. Rotations are for carebears.
  6. Kylo Elder

Raid will be instance just wait for a couple of expansion.
  7. Tulgin Augur

DBG can do whatever they want with the servers. If they decide FFA raiding isn't working, rotations aren't working, they can do instancing. Like you said, they were promoted as non enforced rotations (I don't recall seeing that, but whatever), and they enforced rotations..

If they instance raids and you don't like it, stop playing.

Kudos to the most useful post in the last week. And no this is not sarcasm. At all.
  9. Lee81 Augur

Fine, I'll stop. I'll just say that the servers should remain FFA.

A game company that consistently changes the game how they see fit to please the most people will quickly lose all their subscribers. If EVERYTHING about the game can be changed at a whim, then there is no value in character development at all, which is 95% of what happens in Everquest.

Sadly, though, this is exactly what we are seeing take place both here and on live. Maybe not all to please the majority, but the current instability of the dev team's recent decision making should be extremely concerning with anyone who has or intends to invest any kind of time in this game.

Just to touch on Esper's point. I'm a lifetime 50% raider with TL(Currently 212 of 434 targets[48.85%]). I work multiple jobs, and go out on the weekends. In fact, unless a raid is between 6-9 my time on the weekends, i'm not raiding it.

I still had my epic first week of Kunark, first Trak BP on the server, VP weapon(For and giggles), and have been one of the top geared warriors on both servers since they started. EQ isn't hard. Logging on for 20 minutes isn't hard(and you dont even have to do it. I've ignored batphones while watching TV!). The only difference between me and someone else, is that my hours basically mean i'm always up when something spawns in the middle of the night.

As far as Finley goes, I dont think many of us care to any major extent, but I will say the reason I come back for new TLP's is because non-instanced EQ is the pinnacle of MMO. No other game shares the same social aspect that EQ in the classic(We'll call the classic era pre-GoD) era has. Because content isn't instanced, we know how terrible of a player people like Fulkjoo are. We also get to watch as guilds wipe, and those same guilds can watch and see what we do to win.

Surprisingly enough, Apok is "All for instancing" now that they're not even #3. Yet Rosengard doesn't cry about it, and they've been dominating everything non-Trak since Kunark started. Perhaps, instead of forum-questing, you should be playing and things would work differently?

Congrats you love the ruleset on the current TLP. When the new one opens you've got nothing to worry right? You, your guild and friends won't leave so enjoy your ride on that TLP.

I'm sure all the pro-instance folks won't mind the new TLP and leaving ragefire and lockjaw.
Then again if everyone leaves will you guys stay?

Just like the pro-instance folk had to swallow a pill to play on these TLP, the anti-instance folks will have to swallow a pill to watch the new TLP.
Just pray it doesn't show better in terms of revenue than the current TLPs, we wouldn't want that.

No one is crying man, just a discussion on a message board. TL has benefited heavily from the modifications post server opening (which were an attempt to spread content around). I am sorry if instancing will ruin your experience, but you're honestly not competing with anyone right now so I don't know what you're trying to preserve.
  14. Detheb Augur

I clearly stated it up there. Non-instanced EQ(TLP servers) are the last MMO experience that actually requires a social aspect to it. If you do something wrong, people know about it. If you do something right, people will spin it so that it looks like you did something wrong and everyone will know about it.

The fact is, you're not competing with us, but RG has been putting up a fight. Just because Apok can't compete, due to your own issues, doesn't mean noone else can. If you count VP as a single raid, we've down less raids since Kunark came out than RG has, but a pretty decent margin. Can you explain that?
  15. Finley Augur

Has Rosengard gotten a Trak since instance caps were removed?
  16. Kragin Augur

has apok gotten trak at all ?
    lockjaws and Simone like this.
  17. Finley Augur

No. TL has gotten all Traks except one when Rosen used some clever tactics that are no longer able to be used (And once the cat was out of the bag it would have been used against them).
  18. Dojii Augur

The end-game for TLP needs more adjusting for sure. Many people have quit and it's only Kunark.

RG has contested us against Trak, they lost, but it was closer than anyone would have liked. You know what the big difference between RG and Apok is? When i target 3/4 of RG's raid, they're even con. Consider that when you're asking for instances because you're not able to out dps us. Levels mean a whole heckuvalot at this point.
  20. Dojii Augur

If end-game = one guild perma farming accelerated content it's pretty GG.
