   So I had a problem with getting jboots due to Hasten stealing from me. So I open the in-game browser to do a petition -- I can't click on anything in the browser, I can't close the browser, my game is basically taken over by said browser.
   
   So I quit the game and come back -- and the browser is back at the server select screen -- again, I can't close the browser, I can't click on anything, nothing works.
   
   How the heck do I get rid of the browser?

   See if you can find the browser under processes in task manager and shut it down from there.
