Fixed Hunter of Dranik's Hollows

Oakwynd *IS* special though, becase one of the server bonuses that came with Omens of War (honestly people only talk about FTE in regards to Oakwynd, but the evolving ruleset bonuses are SO GOOD, people are sleeping on Oakwynd) was an increased rare spawn chance, and even with that bonus, the named mobs still don't show up on zone creation. If it's not happening on Oakwynd (or, I suppose, Mischief?), it ain't gonna happen anywhere else.

However, I was able to complete this achievement during the most recent Rare Mob bonus that ran from July 1 to July 9. This leads me to believe that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE the rare mobs actually do spawn, but the spawn chance is so absurdly low, that no one is going to realistically see one spawn unless there's a crazy high Rare Bonus going on. I finished Dranik's Hollows during that bonus, but since it ended, I've spun up an estimated 70-100 instances of Sewers of Dranik looking for named mobs and have yet to see a single one.

I get what you are saying but you are just wasting your time spinning up additional instances. With the exception of maybe 1 of the rares (Inky Murkglider?) all of them ONLY spawn on a respawn of the static placeholder spot so they cannot spawn on instance creation. From doing this achievement before they broke instance respawns the named inside were no more rare than other OoW rares, id guesstimate about a 1 in 5 spawn rate.

With all due respect (and I do respect you, Bobby), that appears to be objectively wrong (at least, in regards to Dranik's Hollows) because prior to the recent bonus, I DID find Silentpaw up upon spinning up a Murkglider Hive instance (actually that was the 2nd Silentpaw I'd seen by spinning up Murkglider Hive instances). However, during the recent bonus that just ended a couple days ago, I finished the entire achievement (Oakwynd):

That said, there still may objectively be an issue with Sewers of Dranik and Catacombs of Dranik instances preventing ANY named mob from spawning on those instance spin-ups, since I spent ~2 hours yesterday spinning up instances (estimated 70-100 instances) and never saw a single named mob.

So, it's really hard to say definitively, and it definitely needs to be investigated from every angle, because something is definitely wrong. I'm pleased this thread has been marked QA In progress, but a similar thread from a year or so ago was marked "Not a Bug" and was closed.

    Something is amiss, for sure.

I finally found the reason this is happening, AND why we as GM's could not replicate the issue. (Repop was not the reason, though it did make tracking the issue harder) Thank you EQ QA team for the help that pointed to the issue.

I have no ETA on this, I do NOT expect it to make the August patch, but, I am making a ticket with instructions on how to fix it to pass on to one of the content designers. It is not a fast fix as we will have to implement a method of spawning that doesn't have them there on startup to prevent tracking instance cheesing.

Wouldn't it be easier to just set the zones back to the way they were, where the mobs repopped...you know...back when it was working?

Honestly I'm only seeing Ngreth's response here AFTER the Test Patch notes for August were posted, and now I can see. He mentions a different method will have to be implemented. I had my doubts that the problem was actually fixed, BUT if they had to re-do the way it functions in order to make it work now, I have more confidence in the fix.

    Thanks Ngreth!

It sounds more like how the minis in Anguish work. There, once you kill 40 trash mobs, anywhere from 1-5 minis spawn.
