Hey, return focus effects.

    Sadly, it's the dev "view" since Mangler, on how old-school it is being without focus effects, so this won't change, however terrible it is.

    Casters could use the help since melee will be benefiting more from all the Anniversary Tower gear with ATK on it.

    The beauty of no Focus Effects until Luclin (I am against this and want them reactivated from day 1) is that on Teek I can just sell all of the raid gear I get as a caster because the only benefit of more health and mana, basically, and usually that isn't an issue with how fast targets die on TLP

    It was supposed to be a one server change for the mangler server. It was never intended to go this far but alas, here we are 5 years later. The code did not disappear. Things like this are a simple flip of the switch.

    We get it mages/necros/ench are OP the first few expansions. But this really handicaps Wizards and makes the game more annoying for the priest classes.

    It was a stupid change that never attracted one player, never appealed to one player, and didn't exactly add balancing in anyway. Just something that wasn't thought out that some guy who probably isn't with DPG anymore blurted out in a meeting as their way of contributing something and trying to justify their role.

    Read it but still felt obligated to call out the lunacy of the decision that not one actual player has ever asked for. It's the wrong decision. As bad as Holly's "we will never have instances" and "casuals shouldn't kill nagafen."

    Aristo's statement is another example of the same kind of lunacy and inadequate response to the people that write his check.

    Again, disabling focus effects till Luclin was the "easy way out" the same way hosing ALL quest exp. instead of addressing the specific bone-chips issue. Just like the quest exp. "fix" disabling focus effects does not address the problem (which never was - no one was upset about casters being OP due to "focus effects").

    And please, do quote some response from the AMA to a non-trivial question (i-e, not fluff, swag etc.), which is along the lines of "very good idea, we will look into it right away!", if you can find one. I dozed off after the umpteenth "nope no plans at all" response worded differently for flavor. :p I mean, apparently "not yet implemented" means "dont plan to do it"... based on the non-DPG experts' decryption on the thread about BST/MER on launch of TLP,

    monk fists and charm dps are perfectly fine, but saving mana or extending buff durations with focus effects is crossing the line :rolleyes:

    Shame this didn't happen. Game is so melee heavy in the first few expacs. Be nice to have longer buffs and dots and whatnot.
