Heroic Adv. Bixie War.: They're Everywhere! - Working as intended?

    I've tried this HA twice now and both times it has been an absolute nightmare. I've /bugged in game already but I have a hard time believing no one else is having issues with this mission. It was my normal box group of Lv. 100 Ench/Dru/Mag and T5 J Mercs Clr/Tank/Caster DPS.

    First try gone bad: the final step is to talk to the Queen NPC after a bunch of other "kill mob" steps. Well, after a wipe the KOS mobs wound up killing the queen. Once I finally had the mobs dead, mission = unwinnable. Usually the task NPCs just "pass out". Nope. Gone.

    Second try I had the misfortune of getting a step where you have to kill spider matriarchs. These mobs aren't that tough aside from having a ton of HP... it's just that they spawn up to *50ish* adds which do not despawn. I was able to chain res and beam kite with my mage to kill them after a wipe. THEN on the second to last step "kill 18 attackers"... guess what mob was one of them? Another matriarch, which spawned another 50 adds. It's already bad enough you get swarmed with the 18 KOS mobs but it is completely unplayable with that many mobs up. It's like people who mass pull to intentionally lag out zones... I tried for a few hours to beam / kite / nuke / charm kill and in the end, it was futile and I was running out of time.

    Please tell me this is not intended?

    Edit: My pics got resized - everything in the track window is "a loyal hatchling" and the mass corpses to match in case it's hard to see.

    It's not intended for the matriarchs to spawn adds that fast (they spawn 3-ish adds every 3-ish seconds), unfortunately due to Devs decisions in Beta to bone their biggest testers, it wasn't caught until like 2 days before live which was too late to fix for live, but it looks like it will be fixed in the patch tomorrow morning.

    I beta'd this mission and told them this would happen but they said wait till more ppl had tested it. I got so many mobs that it lags u out so badly and u can't do much, managed to FD my necro and watch what happened, the enemy mobs go thru the good guys so easily then all pile up on the queen and knock her out and stay on her spot.

    I've managed to clear the mobs out three times. It is ridiculously annoying, have to separate the "like" mobs from the rest using mez and fade etc till you just have spiders left, then take them all out at once. However, I have failed it 3 times even after killing all the mobs. 1 time, because the queen despawned and I couldn't hail her at the end, then 2 more times because the treants became "a grateful treant" and therefore decided to be helpful. Meaning we couldn't kill them. So we couldn't finish the "Kill the attackers" step to GET to the hail the queen step.

    9 hours in all doing that. and with Solid guild members for the last two attempts. Oddly enough when I DID manage to kill all of them it was just my two toons and my mercs. The queen just despawned bahhh.

    I've also had multiple issues with this task. Have tried it numerous times and have encountered many bugs with it. Some people have listed some of the ones I've come across, but will list them again:

    -Converted mobs won't count for the Kill the Attackers 0/18 stage.
    -Aggro doesn't properly reset when treants/assassins convert(Merc's continue to try to attack them).
    -A hive soldier/commander/defender will spawn and attack during a different phase that doesn't call for them.
    -a Hatching matriarch will poof after death and won't give you credit for the kill.

    Overall I like the difficulty of the task, but the bugs need to be ironed out immediately, so people can stop pulling their hair out when they encounter the sames issues over and over again.

    I attempted this last night despite people saying how buggy it is. It worked fine for me, but, did not get any treants or Matriarchs. Just clicknar and bixies and everything went very smooth, relatively compared to what some have experienced. So, my suggestion, if have a bugged one, drop and try it again to get mobs that aren't buggy.

    me my wife and a few friends have had issues with this mission. mostly with mobs dieing and us not gettting credit for it. don't know if a bug or if the npc are killing them and us not getting credit or what but its a pita

    Kept regretting the mission after it became unwinnable and finally got a variation where it was broken down to kill 8 and then another step of kill 8. With that breakdown it was manageable and a win.

    But whoever made that chain of tasks from the Naturalist needs to never make another quest.

    Oh jeez, Axxius... jeeeeez... lol

    Let's see, we did this last night, this one task. Twice we failed because the mob count of 18 wasn't sufficient, but the third time... we got it!... but the Queen did nothing but walk to the ledge when hailed. She was bugged. Yes, at the very freaking end, asking the Queen if she was alright... it wouldn't finish.

    So we petitioned. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.And waited. And waited.

    We watched, fished, talked about food as the timer began to expire. Yeah, 5 of us sat in the zone for 6 straight hours, hoping a GM or staffer would come to the rescue, seeing as how we undoubtedly completed the task and were robbed three times of victory. A combined total of 9 hours working on this one task... and it expired. We went to sleep.

    Today the petition was finally answered, and the answer was (basically)... We know you have questions about the task, but since it's the new expansion, you get no help. We're aware of it though. Just /bug it.

    WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    EDIT: If you start the task and the first part is to beat/convert three treants, YOU WILL LOSE. The 0/18 mobs part contains treants that convert, you will never finish.

    If the first part is to kill/convert three assassins, the outcome may be doable. Contains a bunch of spiders that if you don't get rid of, will create a swarm of spiderlings the likes of which no one has ever seen. But its your best chance.

    If someone were to let the spider matriarchs alone, they could produce an infinite amount of spiderlings, and they die extremely easy. It's a good way to farm AA experience.and all you have to do is ignore them for a while. Lotsa poison and gem drops! :D

    Congrats! However, I'll use your post to make the point - if people have to repeatedly drop and re-get a mission just to *hope* to get a win = unacceptable.

    I could accept that I can't win because I'm 3-boxing it but when this many people (with real people) are still saying there are issues... that suggests there is a problem.

    Most of the HA seem *great*. However,... some are still stupidly bugged. This wouldn't be as upsetting if people had not already reported the majority during BETA. Personally, I think this HA should just be taken down until its winnable under *any* circumstance. It should not be a chance of luck on what steps you get.

    A hotfix went in for a raid event (the 1% right?!) the other day but only a half/donkey attempt at fixing this HA by fixing ONE of many bugs reported for this mission in beta.

    Actually there was only 2 posts related to They're Everywhere on the Beta thread and both issues were 'fixed', none of the other 'fail' combos came up or were reported. Probably due to not enough people testing it (if they were they weren't reporting any issues). This could have been better, but Dev's poor decisions boned the biggest testers :p.

    JT buffs on beta server are gamebreaking though..

    Fully geared test server duped characters reaching live servers... that however is totally np np np np np A-OK.

    P.S. even after the hotfixes this is still one of the buggiest heroic adventures in the zone / expansion. Many times when you get a step that requires you to defend the water ramp, cliknar drum mobs can warp to the top platform fighting guards by the queen. Also quite recently (we've done this heroic adventure quite a bit) We managed to get back to back "kill 15 enraged beasts" steps *which is fine* but after having killed 15/15 then in the 2nd step 13/15 no more spawned. I was counting the amount that popped and the final wave only had 3 mobs lol so we had to drop the mission and start over (nothing else was on track to give us task updates)

    Just did this task about an hour ago and beat it. The first step was indeed "beat/convert 3 treants", however, the last kill stage was only 9 mobs instead of 18 and they were only spawning 2-3 at a time near the queen, making them easily ccable to prevent the queen from dying. I did however, fail at it yesterday when we got unlucky and got the "kill 0/18" part, they owned the Queen and after wiping everybody a couple of times, I did the proverbial rage quit, just didnt' have the patience for it. But another day, another go and it went smooth as butter :)

    I've seen replications of all weird anomalies from this mission. We were able to defeat it the day after spider matriarchs ceased spawning 3 adds every 3 seconds (seemed more like 30-60 seconds after the fix).

    We did have a drum runner pop from the beginning at the water ramp, attacking the guard down there, even though they were never called for in any of the task steps. /boggle.
    I've even verified mobs popping on the Queen in the middle of the event, so I have come to keeping the Queen on extended target so I can run up and deal with it.

    That's exactly my initial thoughts. I got the same exact response on a different account from a different GM. So it is copy & paste response to handle anything related to CotF. As if it is a valid reason to ignore helping the player base. But enough of me derailing the thread and back on topic. Hope they get these fixes pushed out soon.
