The Heart of Fear is a story that started with the House of Thule Expansion in 2010. It continued with the Veil of Alaris in 2011 and has carried through the Rain of Fear expansion in November. We have subsequently delivered the final chapters of this plot in the Shadow of Fear Game Update in April and you discover the climactic ending within the Heart of Fear coming this July. While its nice to see new content, I think releasing it when guilds are at the height of the summer attendance slump is kind of a bad idea. You guys should rethink some of this stuff next time.This is one of the main reasons that I am against this type of staggered content release. A certain tier may land during a bad time and/or period for all of the guilds (like summer) - Ive always felt like expansion releases and whatnot should be all about the timing. I understand that attendance issues etc are not your concern. But I just see it as a bad idea personally and its something that needs to be taken into consideration next time. T4 wont bring back many of these folks that habitually take summer breaks. So I ask: Why release something like this when a lot of your player base is on a break or MIA? You should know what summertime is all about, and what it can do to guilds. Especially raiding guilds.
If you had access to Beta for Rain of Fear or Shadow of Fear, you're already in for Heart of Fear. There is not going to be a separate formal sign-up process for this round of Beta.
So we're getting don't-call-them-epics epics? Simple question; Will the weapons be drops off of named or fully quested? Please clarify. If they're quested, you might want to dust off the old "Epic" title and bring it back into the game.
They said in a recent webcast something like this (correct me if I'm wrong): group version of those weapons will be the reward for completing all quests (i.e. Savior achievement) in all RoF/SoF/HoF zones T1-4, and it will be upgradable to the raid version with a raid drop (similar to Shawl 3.0).
No new aa was not a good decision. Hopefully the big pitch of "class" weapons are actually useful for all classes and not just a placeholder for some because of poor focus or effects. Cookie cutter stats and spreadsheet upgrades are not the way to go especially when extremely light on everything else.
Will we be receiving different rewards from the original RoF beta testers, or the same? I signed up for RoF beta but didn't have time to get all of my tokens, so wondering if this will give me another chance to be a bouncy Jello cube
There were no beta rewards for testing the Shadows of Fear content, so I highly doubt there will be any for the Heart of Fear content. The jello cube illusion was only awarded if you clicked enough tokens in the beta prior to the expansion release. You do, however, still get the satisfaction of helping to fix bugs and point out spelling errors!
That's the plan regardless, but helps me make the decision of whether or not I need to boringly solo a necro for the 50 beta tokens. Otherwise I just sit there spamming spells checking to make sure stats are awarded etc and reading quest scripts =P I did that my first Beta and was sorely disappointed to have no beta reward ><
I'm assuming that, like Shadow of Fear, there will be no charge for Heart of Fear if you own Rain of Fear and it will just automatically download and install when released.
that. I mean why give pal sk 1handed special weapon? it s stupid we dps with 2hand, not 1hand, even if you boost them more than usual 2hand will be better, 1handed are used to tank and ratio doesn't matter.
If the hp and ac on it is noticably superior and perhaps a better proc then I'm fine with it being a 1hander.
