Guild Hall Moves

Our guild wanted to upgrade the guildhall and move it to the guild zone, but we fear that items from characters who no longer play or who have passed away will not make the trip over. Has anyone done a guild hall move with good results? Obviously, we can't ask retired or missing people to replace guild items if they go to a crate.

shift-i -> layouts tab -> create new entry (save it yard+house)
    pack up guildhall
then you should be able to place the crate and just restore layout though that same tab

Only the guild leader will be able to put a placed guildhall in their inventory

    Possible problems:

Some guild hall stuff is restricted to all access players so if those retired or gone players no longer are subscribed then their items might not be able to be set down once packed up. They would lose interaction rights.

One guild I know of their entire layout got dumped. Everyone's stuff gets sent back to them when everything was crated. So that would not work with those missing/retired members.

It might work perfectly fine but if it doesn't there is no way to fix it since those players are gone and sorry but I have seen too many guild hall snafu's in the game to believe it would work seamlessly.
  3. Fenthen Well, that's that...

The correct answer is, when you pack up the guild hall items are returned to players. Those items that were placed by characters no longer playing won't be coming back.

We have endured many guild hall issues over the years that resulted in eviction crates being mailed to the owners of items. Many of them had passed away or retired and the items were lost.
The only thing you can really do is save the layout and then go out and get the items that you expect will not be able to be re-placed by the owners.
When you "load" the layout it will still try to place the items and you get a list of missing ones.
If you place an item in the ghall that youre missing, even if you were not the original owner the loading program doesnt care and will place the item right back in the saved spot.
You can think of it as a memorial item still even if it doesnt actually belong to the original person for various reasons.

I can't go get the items because almost all of the guild zone clickies (statues ...) from expacs are from a retired player, and a few others are from a dead player. If those were $5 in the DBSTORE, it wouldn't be a problem, but those players spent hundreds of dollars for those expacs, and we do not have that kind of cash. They are unavailable nevertheless.

Right, guess I wasn't clear on my answer. If the item belongs to someone else who is either gone, retired, or no longer in the guild then no one else can move those items out side of the guild hall where they are right now.

I put a lot of those zone click statues/items from my own claims in other's halls so they have the use of them too. But if they ever wanted to move the guild hall then they would need to contact me again so I can move those items to the new hall.

Sadly, unless someone accesses those accounts, those items would be lost if you moved the guild hall. Same for a house that has items placed by a different account.

I recently moved a house to another Neighborhood on Test. ALL the items contributed to the house came with it, even ones by other players that came from the Marketplace. I think the key is in the Access tab when you right click from inside the front door. Make sure the people who own those items have the highest access available, and all you should need is the Guild Leader to make it so.

I may have to test this with a dummy guild.

Did all the items fit into one crate?
  11. Shanarias Augur

As I recall, they did. I had a giant crate. Some of those items came from Marketplace from another player, and still were there when I unpacked.

I'm just glad the devs have done all the research and have given us a definitive answer on this after similar questions have been asked over the last decade. I think this was given to the same devs responsible for new maps every expansion.
