Excellent post. You're going to get help EXTREMELY quickly with this very informative and polite post. PS: The task worked fine for me a few weeks ago when I did it on a newly created alt. Perhaps you're doing something wrong.
What's bugging out? Are you killing the right sarnak? Do you have a pet or familiar up? Did you accidentally use invis while escorting?

You know... You might get more sensible or helpful replies (even though i find "i have done this the other day, it works fine" QUITE helpful), if you would state what exactly you THINK is bugged, or describe exactly WHAT your problem IS. All i can say, it worked fine for me when i did it (some time ago ofc).
Hey all, i've followed this quest to the "T" and I have the egg and lead the Friendly Chokidai to the Gorowyn zone out and get nothing, no updates, nadda. I never invis'd - killed my way out. What gives with this quest....! Camdelor or Cameloria - Drinal
Smokes, don't tell me you don't dread this stupid task everytime you run someone through this. I always plan on doing this multiple times and try to do it when nobody else is in the zone.
Most of the time it's fine, but I've had this task bug out in various ways, namely; 1. Dog sniff sniff sniffin for eternity, zero progression in the script for half hour prompting a restart 2. Dog sniff sniff sniffin for 10 mins, then 18 add spawns at the same time 3. Dog sniffs for a few minutes, 3 adds pop and receive egg as expected. Escort dog to zone in and no update, prompting a restart It most definitely isn't "working as intended" all of the time, never has.
The issue with this task is that the Chokdai warps all over the dang zone. I have submitted several /reports and there was a bug thread on this several years ago but never got any traction. I suggest opening a new bug thread so people can like it and get this bugged task the attention it deserves. OP: This thread should have gone in the Bug Forum to begin with. You will need way more detail than "This is bugged. Fix it." Now that you know...........fix your thread.
In case you don't know; avoid doing any of these as they can definitely mess this one up: 1. Casting any type of invis. 2. Feign death or anything that clears aggro, especially if its also the kind of feign death that casts invis as well. This task has always been a little fiddly, to be honest, but there are ways to get around it; also, as pointed out above, you will get way better bug remediation by posting specific things that went wrong, in what step, and where, etc.
You do not want them to touch that task, at release it kind of worked with some bugs/caveats as adetia mentioned, People moaned then the fun started each patch it got broken even more. It is sort of working... Hands off please.
