Regardless of all that, I still have trouble believing 44k dps from that proc. The total amount of hits you had was about 21. This includes melee, spell, procs, etc. The amount of procs + hits, while proccing every hit would be around 20. The numbers seem off.

Even if you did that much dps, you're under full burn at this point and the people are talking about normal DPS of the proc. You are not sustaining that dps for lengthy periods of time, so it was just idiocy on your part to give such a skewed and misleading parse. Meanwhile, we have someone doing a 12 hour parse and it reading 160dps.

You also didn't take into account how many MoB's there were and that beasts can double proc. My numbers are close. You made a judgement based on your class and ability. I soaked the proc for every single bit of dps that I could. So yes, I did do that much dps with it. I'll also say that there are other people in the game that could probably make it do more as I've gotten a bit lazy over the last few months.

As far as "normal" dps? It's been made pretty clear that it's a circumstantial weapon.

    Thanks for coming out though.

Okay, let me break it down so you can understand how this works.

Went to beta and spawned 3 level 103 test dummies and one 100. Attacked the 100 one and the three 103's are in proximity. Following me so far? So that means I will only hit them with the AE proc.

Here's the parse-Self only buffs. Let's also review again the weapon is circumstantial.

    /GU Test One Hundred Three in 93s, 2995k @32203sdps --- #1 Stubar 2995k@32203sdps (32203dps in 93s)

Now, let's break it down shall we?

    /tell Stubar Stubar -vs- Test One Hundred Three: -- DMG: 2994916 -- DPS: 32203 -- Scaled: 32203 -- DirDmg: 2994916 -- % dmg as normal: 1.4% -- % dmg as critical: 98.6% -- Non-crit rate: 6.2% -- crit rate: 93.8% -- Attempts: 503 -- Hits: 503 -- Accuracy: 100% -- Avg Hit: 5954 -- Max hit: 6860 -- DMG to PC: 0

So, if the fight was say...29 seconds with say...10 plus MoBs....44k is probably on the low side really.

Keep in mind, the parse above is in a controlled environment.

So I stand by my numbers.

    Divided by 3?

At no point did he ever claim his DPS numbers were per mob

Indeed, that would kind of, sort of, ruin the entire point of parsing that particular weapon.

See? Some warriors get it. lol

It ought to be obvious (although clearlly it's not, based on some comments in here) that if you get a weapon with an AOE proc, its usefulness/utility will have nothing to do with fighting single mobs.

Doubly funny since one of the best historical examples of this was earthshaker which was mostly played with by warriors.

Great Item for Tradeskiller's, if you know what I mean?

I own one also and yes its situational but I love it for what I use it for.

This is one of the problems with melee dps currently, the weapon procs hardly do any dmg compared to the mobs post level 80. The scaling of mob hp vs weapon proc dmg doesn't make sense, and really needs to be looked at. Using the same 250-400 dmg procs (1 handers) is so outdated in todays game. Either the proc rate/min needs to be increased substantially or the weapon procs need to start doing 1000-1500 dmg on 1handers and scaling appropriately for 2handers respectively.

They have stated they aren't interested in raising procs to matter. Procs are just flavor now while they control dps with weapon damage. It is what it is.
