My issue is they put it on a raid item. If its a raid drop it should be itemized to use in a raid. 160 dps lol. Just hit rampage whenever its up you will do more damage that way.

Junior, if you got this and did not realize that it would break mez, and might not be useful in all circumstances, I truly feel sorry for your group/guildmates.

I've never played a melee toon... but I would imagine you play one, and that you have a riposte disc/aa? And another disc/aa that allows you to weapon proc 100% of all hits for a short bit?

Now, imagine pulling 40+ mobs... and hitting both those together, with this weapon...

Chalk another one up to things that make ya wanna /headdesk.

I'm kind oF biased about this item. While I like the idea behind it, I'm a member of the only class that can't use it lol.

Weapons have not procced on riposte hits for years. That exploit was shut down in 2008.

I'm not certain how many more people can jump on the bandwagon of thinking I can't play. I weaponswap, I know I can't use it all the time. My point is that I want to be able to use a chase item all the time, put this proc on something more common and make this thing special for another reason is what I am saying. Goodness, stop questioning the play ability of someone just because they don't see eye to eye with you on something.

While I enjoy the weapon personally and it's very neat for certain situations, the proc mod does need significantly increased. Something like a cleric hammer. I have max WA, am a hybrid, get all the neat damage mods...and I see about 1/4 the dps from the AoE that I do on something like a regular Lifesap V proc. It's pretty underwhelming.

Only the shoulders are really all/all and meant for all situations. You can't have every rare be 100% useful all the time I guess.

Like, Ring of Rage... there's a raid rare that I will never get any use out of until I'm in a group situation, and tanking. That's kind of like me posting that Ring of Rage should be an instant cast nuke clicky with a reuse timer so I can use it on all raids since I never tank. Sounds reasonable?

caster get to use fine silk sash all the time , tank use the bixie shield all the time, burden of truth get used all the time, bloodstained shoulder get used all the time, even the rare clickies from RoF get used alot ( bifold focus, grelleth royal signet, baelfire gem... anything but the pally brell's replacement).

It would make sense that the chase ring actually get used... it's pretty lacking as a chase item... BUT even if you rarely make use of the proc on that ring, you can use it all the time unlike the proc hammer that must sit in his bags more often than not.

Shield of immaculate light is also a nice example.... assuming you actually use shields ( and didn't just pick it up for the clicky) you will use that shield all the time... and use the clicky in DH1 ( that's pretty much the only place it get used, right?)

Long story short: chase items with very situational or ''meh'' proc are annoying... but can deal with it. Chase items that you musn't use most of the time because of their procs... that's sad.

It's not changing, don't worry. There will be people that don't want it, which is fine. Those that do will appreciate its uses.

It's 160 dps proc it has no uses in today's content.

Maybe some clever people can figure out how to get more than 160dps out of it.

Amusing item, but it's one use (proccing on a swarm) isn't worth much as most will just equip a higher damage weapon to get even more dps in the swarm situation.

Aren't you questioning something you don't see eye to eye on in asking for this weapon to be changed cause you don't like that the chase item has a chase proc?

I'm not questioning someones play ability here, I was making mock situations where I can't use it and was suggesting it be changed. There is a difference between that and people looking down on me and assuming I can't play based on what I posted. Obviously it's not changing, I got an answer.

I believe our guild is in a similar situation as some other posters - chase item rotting while content is current.

I don't have one yet, but one day I will. I like the proc. I would buy the item specifically for the proc. And I would operate my bandolier so I don't use it at the wrong time. When was the last time we got a decent ae proc item? (decent being a relative term considering how procs have stagnated)

A chase item that's good for 40s a few times a day just isn't that interesting. The horn of unity has a more practical application and wasn't rare.

I have one, it has it's uses, but the proc rate when not under modification is incredibly underwhelming. We're talking I'm lucky to see it a few times a minute vs 6-8 upwards of 10 dual wielding.

You'll be glad to have a high dps AOE weapon like this when there comes an expansion needing faction grinding.

Maybe, the only faction grind in recent memory was PoWar and I don't think anyone is aoeing that. It's a fun weapon for sure. I just think the proc rate could be tuned up.

haha made me laugh. Ya because a 750 damage ae proc is really going to help you vs mobs with 1.5-5m hp
