Fullscreen Bug Information

The fix works to get fullscreen back to the right resolution but alt-tab doesn't...

As for alt-tabbing (which i think has broken for months already), doing [Windows]+[Tab] then creating a new desktop should work as a workaround meanwhile.

Alt-tab worked for me before the recent update. In fact, I did not have any problem with the UI other than every so often the \lfg tool would crash me to desktop. Windows+Tab does not work for me now.

That instructions worked for me to fix the resolution bug. But it is now nearly impossible to bring the taskbar to the front, to use other processes and the Windows desktop. EQ does always stay in the foreground.

My workaround is to move the EQ client windows to a second Windows desktop with Winkey+Tab. On the second desktop with no other opened windows, the Alt-Tab performance between clients is impressive and even the mouse support for Alt-Tab does work now.

Hey devs (and dev team representatives) - THANK YOU for trying to help us out here.

Opening notepad and deleting some lines out, does not constitutes as coding lol. Also don't think your age matters. Pretty sure the devs here are trying to help before they can push a fix without making things possibly worse. If you need help, just ask.

After changes, I am no longer able to alt tab out and look at websites, etc.

Pretty sure last time I had this a few months back, I had to change something in the client, but guess the patch messed that up also.

Any one remember what needed changing?

Why is it every monthly update brings a round of bugs? Please fix what you broke, and please find a way to stop breaking things virtually every freaking time.

This would be just great, IF IT FIXED MY PROBLEM. I CAN NOT log into a character, because I CAN NOT select a server. The server select window is borked up too. On ONE of my machines I can see the list of servers, down to zek, but the buttons at the bottom of the window allowing me to choose the highlighted server are not there. Double clicking on a server does nothing. I can't get to the character select screen. On my other machine (that will still play the game) this problem did not occur. The suggested edit to the eqclient.ini file did NOTHING, I STILL can't select a server.

When is Daybreak going to fix this?

Attn Dane and anyone else with this problem. I had this happen and i accidently clicked the shrink my window in the upper right between the min and close functions. when i re-expanded window it fixed that...try that who knows.

Sorry to be perfectly clear, load EQ the the server select screen, which is currently to large for you to see what u need then click the 2 box icon in upper right to shrink screen then click it again.

When you start the LaunchPad, click the Advanced Tools gear. Then click Game Configuration and go through the screens until you get to Resolution. Pick a higher resolution and it should work. Try several if needed.

I'm confused. I thought the hotfix patch was supposed to fix this. what was the hotfix patch for?

and is this going to be fix at some point?

No where in my game or my windows icon of the game on my desktop does it say "open eq client in text editor mode" .
Failed instructions step one.
How about the actual game programmers fix the game and I will continue to fix people's houses.

So will this ever be fixed ? as forcing a windows screen on top isnt working at all.
You cant alt tab or use any windows under it. But your mouse still jumps to the 2nd screen if you scroll to much to the left or right.
It worked before, please just cansel last patch, what ever you changed

Another temporary fix is to switch to windowed mode THEN alt-tabing out. Switch back to fullscreen when you tab back in.

Fingers crossed this is premanently addressed on the next patch day.

I have windows in my UI at are minimized that i cannot open any more. will these steps fix this issue?

I am having trouble opening some windows and bags too. I am finding a sometimes solution. That is to move curser somewhat to the right. The touchpoint may not be on the object. See if my "temporary" fix helps you.
