Fixed Full Screen / Screen Resolution Issues

    Ever since patch full screen has defaulted to 400x600 resolution. partially been able to get resolution to go over 800x600. Please revert UI back the way it was before patch so it's not completely hosed. This is enough for me to DEMAND a refund for all of my accounts and quit Everquest FOEVER. I play in full screen and detest windowed mode.

    Can't tab out to desktop. All three PC's. Double checked by camping to desktop and trying to select a browser brings EQ back up on the screen. Is EQ a browser? I was clicking on the Chrome icon. Pretty sure EQ is not a browser.

    I guess this latest client fix also fixes the problem with the chat windows moving since I now have no mouse menu to unlock the chat windows to move them. Some strange sort of fix that escapes my understanding. Still clicking around on one trying to bring back the mouse functionality.

    can confirm hitting alt+enter to go fullscreen caused me an INSTANT crash via resetdevice fail this morning.

    Still broken for me. Tried once to trick it out and it worked(figured it out before I checked posts). Used the low res then high res option is opened process <<<<======(relevant to posts-negating deletion which baffles me people have time to delete posts , but not update us on progress).

    And the camera on muh phone goes click.

    So technically the game is semi playable if you don't want to do anything else on your pc(including a second account) which is an obvious deviation from rational usage.

    I remember this stuff in 1999 EQ. Someone should have told the devs NOT to take the DeLorean for a spin sheesh.

    I have noticed that 3 out of 4 accounts are having this issue (at least in my small orbit). The group I usually play with are considering giving up on EQ after nearly 25 years. In fact, they spent about 15 to 20 minutes fixing their UI earlier today only for it not work as it did prior to the patch (unable to fully interact in the environment). Of the three, two of them have to "fix" it each time they go to full screen or log off and back on. The third one hasn't rebooted (first time on since the patch) to see if the fix worked. All three of them have logged and most likely will not log back on until they read that Daybreak has fixed this or quit EQ all together.

    My wife and I are having major issues with the Broken UI system . Even though I play in windowed mode ( boking on different screens) I have had major UI issues , First the windows do not resize, I can not get the display to respond to the size that I normally play.

    My wife can not play in windowed mode and EVERYTIME she tries to switches to full screen it crashes.

    We echo the above sentiment, 23 years on 3 accounts and the barrier to entry is becoming more difficult to justify the expense. every second we cannot play we are surfing for new things to do. Perhaps retention of current players should be a priority in order to keep the lights on.

    I'm with the OP. I was on a roll onto epic #5. This is severely pissing off us FS players. With regard to the last post and wondering if there's anyone who still understands this game. Yeah, there is. They are all writing private server code that actually works.

    Update to pervious post: No fix yet and my friends have stated they have stopped (ended) two of their secondary accounts (all access), I fear their mains are next. Hopefully Daybreak is working on a new fix or I fear I will be the last of my group still playing, I don't blame them, why spend money on something that works when it wants to. Next quarters revenue will go down for Daybreak unless they do something soon.

    Yeah this is something that is always fun to come back from vacation to see. I tried loading up this morning to find everything gone to crap on my game. Log in was already boinked up and couldnt adjust. I tried to get my ui all reset back up and looked fine and camped to save. I exited to the log in and tried to see if all saved by restarting and it had reset everything I did back to what it was before, a complete mess. So spending 30 min to organize and fix ends up in a waste of time. I am going to let my paid accounts just linger awhile till this is fixed. I am not able to play in this state so waiting is only option for me. Devs please do your best on this situation. I just paid for 4 accounts for the yearly sub and this is not starting off well.

    alt-tab is broken when in fullscreen mode.

    have to alt-enter twice to get correct ratio for mouse pointer to line up correctly,

    im offline till this gets a new patch.,.

    I eventually figured out that for some strange reason a whole lot of alt+tab and alt+enter behavior is required and previous to this client I was able to log in and not have to select the resolution each time but now there is no saved full screen ui for the character logging in anymore. Making a shround to make a backup did nothing to make a layout to /copylayout from. The shroud layouts even revert to the default ui.

    I figured out the mouse was a mis click from the pointer unchecking a box that it wasn't even near. But I am still 33% angry so I will be waiting to resub that one account.

    Wondering out loud if the [that which we cannot speak] debacle currently impacting airlines and retailers around the world has also created similar challenges for the EQ team. I'm frustrated as hell but if that's the case, then yeah, understanding and patience is needed.

    That said, I can't recall a time in decades where we'd get routine updates related to bug issues. My assumption is that once acknowledged, we won't hear anything until the problem has been confirmed, resolved and a fix pushed out. I'll go out on a limb and say it's not the Devs themselves (who I'm sure would love to comment) as much as it is some internal policy that regulates communication and timing. Other companies handle this differently understanding that more frequent communication would quell so much of the unrest.. It could be resource driven but seems we're just not there yet.

    I prefer to play in full screen mode on multiple boxes. Using widescreen monitors, loading UIs, having to change /viewport everytime I log in is too much of a hassle so I'm not logging in as I would normally. I wonder how this is impacting in-game population?

    In windowed mode on computers that crash if I try to go full screen the test is squished together often unable to read, text and maps are blurry and map is so light it is hard to see. But main issue is anything you go to click you have to click 1/8 inch below whatever it is you are trying to click.
    Is it really too hard to post an update on what is going on? So many people having issues and upset and nothing. Just popping in to say we haven't found the cause yet or to see if any other info we can give to help them resolve would go a long way to help the frustration felt by so many.

    I sent this message on the EQ Discord player to player support page. @Cairbrae It's been 4 days since anything's been posted as far as an update is concerned on the full screen resolution graphics UI situation. Can we get some kind if an update please? And he replied.
    I fixed it over the weekend. I believe a hotfix is in progress. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.
