    How in the world are they saying the issues in this thread are "Fixed internally"??????? ain't a dang thing fixed :eek:o_O:mad::mad::mad:

    That means in the dev environment. It won't be on Test or Live yet. Hopefully it's true, because that would mean they don't need to spend weeks figuring it out.

    What does fixed internally mean ? All 3 of my computers are having the same full screen resolution problem. One computer actually crashes every time you try and go full screen. I was so grateful when Alt/Enter was fixed but now it is broken again. I would never ever play EQ in windowed mode even for a short period of time. So what exactly is this fixed internally thing you speak of ?

    For players who are experiencing reset device errors, I've found the problem and there is a workaround if you don't want to wait for a patch.

    It has to do with Windows 10/11 application compatibility and the fullscreen optimizations that are enabled.

    Open eqgame.exe properties and check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" and click OK. Then the game should be able to run.

    Also happening with windows 7.

    ETA on patch?

    Regarding the posts being removed, it is because they are non-constructive to the bug report.
    Non-constructive means something is not useful, helpful, or beneficial, and does not serve towards improvement or advancement. Non-constructive comments meant to attack the game team, or unconstructive advice is unnecessary to get the issue resolved.

    Fair enough.
    Which team would be responsible for the type of announcement that might read something like,
    "We recognize there were unintended display & UI issues, and we apologize for the frustration & inconvenience they have caused. We're working hard on a fix, and we'll keep you updated as we make progress. Thank you for your patience and bug reports"?

    Windows 11 laptop, EQ is completely unplayable

    The mouse does not line up with buttons when windowed and switching to full screen kicks me out of EQ....but at least today I do have a play button!

    An update on progress would be reasonable.

    If I understand the fixed internally tag on this thread correctly.

    They have fixed it on their internal server, we are now just waiting on them to push it to live. The sooner the better.

    Nothing changed in my firewall or other settings. The game freezes immediately when logging in from the launcher, or after entering login details when directly launching eqgame.exe. In both cases you'd expect to end up at the server select window at that point - so this surely has something to do with the changes made to that screen in the patch.

    Seems to be more to it. With "Disable fullscreen optimizations" checked, Advanced Tools -> Game Config -> 1600x1200 (max what I can set) in Launcher. Alt+Enter to Switch to Full Screen Mode. Then switch to 2560x1600 once logged in. Doing a normal logout (with timer).
    Starting the launcher again.... Back to 800x600. Nothing is saved.

    I started getting the reset device error on one of my computers. Did an uninstall and reinstall and it went away. Did not see the check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" post before I reinstalled, but reinstall worked I guess, so shrug.

    One way until the patch comes to keep resolutions staying the same, manually set resolutions in the eqclient.ini save it, then go to properties and set it to read only. Should stop the client from making changes to it, granted it will also block saving any other changes you make, but...

    Can we please get clarification on what has been fixed internally. All of the full screen and game resolution problems that are happening and the "failed reset ()" error. Or just one presumably the "failed reset ()" error but not both?

    OK, for me, disable full screen optimization did not work. However... on three different computers and accounts i was able to switch to full screen mode, change the resolution to one of the much less acceptable options, hit yes to keep, then I was able to see the option to select my native full screen resolution option. Note: on one of the computers I had to select two of the very low options, before I saw the full array of actual options. Hope this helps for now ;)

    *EDIT* Turns out this gets reset after relogging :( But hopefully it at least helps the devs track the problem a bit more :(

    So far, every time I log in I still have to reset my resolutions manually when I go full screen (I need to actually set it to 640x480 first, otherwise I will not see the options for the bigger resolutions).
    Then when I alt enter I see a very small 800x600 (or 640x480?) window in the left corner first, which I click and get me back to the big resolution again. Afterwards on full screen when I alt tab I get a black screen and back to the game (which then lets me alt tab quickly, feels like a borderless mode? totally fine with that).

    Sometimes server select is also only possible because I can hit ENTER through the server I have already selected since the game starts windowed on that portion.

    Ran the patcher and file checked ... settings not saving, still doesn't log into fs mode, uses 800/600 resolution instead of what was set ingame when I logged out not using fast camp, command, etc. This is part of the og post just making note. If it was only for the reset device, noted.

    UPDATE: NOT FIXED INTERNALLY: THE NEW CLIENT DID NOT correct or fix the UI resolution problems with full screen when you switch from windowed mode to full screen it still changes the resolution to 800x400. Nor did it fix the issue if you log out in offline trader mode in either full screen or windowed mode. When you log back in the UI still comes back totally messed up in 800x400 resolution.

    The players who had device reset failures and/or crashed out and have written default 800x600 values to their eqclient.ini file. These bad values will persist after the hotfix!

    If you're unable to use the Server Select screen because it's not fully rendering, complete both sections below. If you're able to enter the game, only step two should be necessary.
    1. Open the Game Configuration window from the Launcher by clicking on the "Advanced Tools" option in the bottom left. Select "Next" until you reach the "Engine Settings" page. Select an option greater than or equal to "1280x760" from the "Resolution" dropdown and then select "Finish".
    2. Login to any character and open the Options window. Select the "Display" tab and then the "Video Modes" option. On the Video Mode window, select the resolution you want your fullscreen game window to render at. Typically this will be your monitor's resolution. While in fullscreen mode, camp to desktop (/camp desk) and restart the game.
    OR

    If you feel comfortable editing a file directly, you can update these values in your eqclient.ini file to the size you want your fullscreen game window to render at. Typically this will be your monitor's resolution.
    [VideoMode]
    Width=1920
    Height=1080
