    Same problem here.

    I did some minor testing.

The Launcher does NOT change the settings.

The game client executable changes my settings back to 800x600 (in eqclient.ini) for fullscreen and ignores the fullscreen=1 line.

So the game crashes when I try to switch to full screen. I tried to change my video mode and it wont do that either!

Your OS is windows 11? My windows 10 PC got 800*600, windows 11 PC got reset device0 failed.

Enter the game in the Full screen 640x480 mode, use alt+o to get to the display tab and select your resolution that you were previously using. Doing this for me loaded the character.ini resolution with everything in place except for the chat windows. Filters are ok, no hotkeys were messed up.

If you use the windowed mode to use the video resolutions on the display tab it won't work and you will have to camp to use the DOOM fullscreen from character select to enter the game or you will start getting the reset device errors.

All the other resolutions had the characters original base persona amended at the end of the resolution description. I get it what it fixes making that persona appendage for the resolution that wasn't getting saved via shrouding.

I have WindowedMode=False on both comps - it worked fine with that setting and is now ignoring that. I had changed it in game to videomode 1920x1080 using the default setting not copy from another toon and in checking this morning it's still there relogging back in.

The server select is impossible to select anything at the size it defaults to. Using the Windows bar at the top, selecting window/fs mode I can select to log in but it's not in FS mode from there.

Char select looks ok but to get into FS mode alt/enter as we normally would have to do previously. Herein lies the problem.

We now have lost ALL previously set resolutions and are back to something unplayable looking at char select.

Enter world - reset back to what worked before using the default.ini videomode not using copy from the charname etc and things work but ...

    - It looks like whatever was put in to change the resolution of the server select may be the cause of the problem with a conflict between other settings including full screen mode having worked before patch without a problem.

I haven't tested copying from a char.ini ... I'm using the videomode changes the game provides in the same section.

You can fix the resolution by doing the resolution twice. The second time it will allow you to scroll down to the 1920/1024 but you still have to copy the character name and most times it will put things back where you had them. Most times... They really screwed the pooch on this update.

Totally agree things are messed up - we shouldn't all have to do anything to tweek to get it to work.

I did a bit more testing on one of my machines. This is bad, it's going to need a patch, and it's going to need one fast.

    Things I can confirm:
    • The settings for full-screen resolution and full-screen toggle in the eqclient.ini do nothing at this time. Setting them manually before you login will still result in the game loading in windowed mode. It does seem to use the settings for windowed resolution to some degree.
    • When the game tries to load into full-screen (on launch) it ends up in windowed mode, and sometimes thinks it's in full-screen so you can't click anything. Alt-Tab tends to fix this, but will put you back to a low res. This starts right from the server select screen.
    • You can eventually get back to full-screen in the resolution you desire, after some fiddling with the settings, but this is temporary. It's not saving the correct settings in the file, and even if it was, it's not using those settings when you launch the game again.
    • When you switch resolution/full-screen in game, it doesn't always save that setting, or the correct setting, right away. When I switched to 1920x1080 (fs), it saved the setting right away. Then I switched to 2560x1440 (fs) and it didn't save anything. Then I switched back to 1920x1080 (fs) and it didn't save anything. Then I camped. It saved 2560x1440 (fs) to the file even though I was in 1080p when I camped
    • Fullscreen is borderless now. This is awesome, and the reason they should fix instead of roll-back. However, I found that if I started to camp and then clicked a window other than EQ, it cancelled my camp.

I'm going to try to check a few other things to see what else I can confirm. In case it matters, the specs of this machine are as folllows:

    Windows 11 Pro
    Ryzen 7 5800X3D
    32GB DDR4-3466 (OC to 3600)
    Radeon RX7900XTX

I will also test on my other machine which has different specs and was getting the ResetDevice() failed error.

I have very similar issues STILL. I was able to coax EQ into working for a little while last night using some of the previously posted workarounds, but today nothing works. This is absolutely ridiculous. How many times are the paying customers supposed to go through this?

Just logged in and now none of the work arounds are working any longer....sigh.

Was able to start in full screen, go from 800 res to like 640, this would bring back all resolutions and allow going back to say 1920 or 2560. BUT, now when trying the resolution doesnt even change anymore, it just stays at 800...........

Ok, I have 4 accounts, use 4 different computers. At this point, I can manage to log in on one and spend 10 minutes rearranging the windows, etc. Each time I relog in, they are back to messed up with the resolution, etc., Some of my computers give me the reset 0 error when switching to full screen. Let me know when you fix this. I would like to raid tonight, but not worth logging in unless I see a patch.

Impossible to get to server select screen since the patch. Strangely enough I was able to log in last night (although affected by the UI / full screen resolution issues others are experiencing). Today, when logging in through the launcher, the game immediately freezes. Completely unresponsive to end task from the task manager too.Launcher takes 3-4 minutes to start up as well.

When launching the game directly through eqgame.exe , the login screen works as normal, but then the same freeze occurs when attempting to log in.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but this did not resolve the issue.

Kinda sounds like a firewall issue. That is my 2 cents.

Did we ever get a confirmation that they are aware of the problem? This is affecting a large amount of players.

Not that I have seen since last night. Only thing suggested last night didn't work, and it's been silence since.

I am still having no issues other than switching from full screen to windowed has some of the ui elements out of place on a few of my machines. My full screen is working great. Again you cannot do alt enter at character select to do the full screen and enter the game to select your video resolution options. You have to enter at character select with the funky 640x480 full screen, bring up your alt+o options once you are in game, display tab, select video options and select your resolution.

You will be able to camp and go to other characters and enter the game and your saved character ini will load. Alt enter will do windowed and maybe your windowed ui won't need a lot of rearranging. Tabbing out and loading another account will require the same effort.

Closing out an account and reloading it will require the same effort. So it is not saving from one session to the next. The FTP browser popping up will sometimes mess with character select and you get 1/4 of the screen. Any browser running will get 1/4 screened also.

I don't want to make a fresh post detailing this as there are already to many threads about this.
