Yes, the lines are now missing and we have no idea why. All 4 hits will miss, nothing in the spell data really looks off either. It's not like the old problem where our archery skill was rolling over and a 10000% chance to hit was more like 10%. I've /bugged it a few times, as I can't see what's causing this I have no idea what else to do.
This looks like the first time it happened in my log and I looked Nov 20th to Dec 18th to try to see if it happened prior to expansion launch or not. One thing I have noticed is Outrider's Accuracy is at least partially involved with the misses since once it fades the spell(s) land(s) again. The second time I hit Outrider's Accuracy 11 is when the 1st time the bug appeared for me, so maybe it's Outrider's Accuracy 11 and 12 that are bugged. Rest tossed in for completeness to show Outrider's Accuracy 10 didn't affect me. 100% of the time I have misses up to Dec 18th is due to Outrider's Accuracy other than the 1st time I used it after training the 11th rank for some reason. Gonna do some testing, I noticed this earlier and found that if I used epic prior to accuracy the issue seemed to disappear. But seemed doesn't = fact, so give me a few hours.
That's possible I guess, but I would expect something like the roll over bug that hit us last time to be the reason and as the spell simply fails to cast the nukes on the target I was assuming it was a different problem.
Didn't take very long, but it appears to be an issue with Outrider's Accuracy I'll send some numbers in and see if they can figure out the problems source. As a note > No buffs > No auras/songs > Falcon Strike > Accuracy still nets a 100% hit ratio on focused. Where-as > No buffs > No auras/songs > Accuracy still nets 100% hit ratio. Scenarios: a) With Eyes of the Howler rk. II + Accuracy I have a 100% miss rate. b) Without Eyes of the Howler rk. II + having Accuracy up I have a 100% hit rate. c) With Eyes of the Howler rk. II + Accuracy + epic I have a 100% miss rate. d) Without Eyes of the Howler rk. II + Accuracy + epic I have a 100% hit rate. I hypothesize the conflict lies somewhere with Eyes + Accuracy both modifying the accuracy. When I swapped to Raptor the same issue was present. When I swapped from Focused Rain of Arrows Rk. II to Focused Storm of Arrows Rk. III the issue was still present. From this we can conclude something is wrong with the new Outrider's Accuracy having eliminated all other factors present both before and after. To be specific: This - 4: Increase Chance to Hit by 190% Needs to be this - 4: Increase Chance to Hit by 180% And possibly as far as this - 4: Increase Chance to Hit by 170% Rangers asking devs to nerf them, SHOOT ME NOW.
Thanks Zahrym. I totally forgot about the eyes line modifying accuracy too, eventhough I had seen and made a note of thief's eyes not causing an issue. It's always the obvious.
Or ask them to fix whatever the bug is, a nerf works fine if it takes away this bug in the short term but the problem will likely creep back up in the future.
Yeah in all likelyhood and as a wise man once said, if you want something done quickly and effectively ask a lazy man. Therefore I believe if we just ask for a quick fix, and maybe see if they would be willing to investigate the issues with the algorithim for archery going over 100% accuracy we could get it patched relatively soon.
Let us not forget that just because we know exactly what is causing something to not work properly, it is not always easy to find and fix in the coding (quiver haste anyone?). Seems to me that this is happening with the Focused line but not the Shots line. The difference being that the Focused line that is experiencing the problem has an accuracy modifier of 10000% and the Shots line has accuracies of 400-600%. Finding and fixing the piece of code causing the problem would be the optimal solution but given how long that can take sometimes then maybe a short term solution would just be lowering the accuracy mod on the Focused line to say 5000% would work. I haven't done any studies on exactly what the hit difference is between the 4 Focused attacks at 10000% accuracy mod and the 4 Shots attacks with a 400-600% accuracy mod but neither seem to miss much.
You are right, but the quiver problem was not really a problem. They simply refused to fix it because we were doing well in terms of dps and it was a slight upgrade.
