FF Mission with No tank

    I usually burn the giant down before the archers even come into play. I very seldom get the blue aura at the end of the final fight.

    With that said, unless you're going for the achievement, the archers don't do any real damage, if they're active. I never bothered with them.

    I do this daily with SK and Rogue, but I have done it with a ranger and mage. Mage is super weak with no AA. Not super good with dps, I mainly focus dps on ranger.

    I just give the mage and ranger TAs, since the SK and rogue duo is more efficient.

    I hung back after burning boars down with ranger dps. The 3 hunters can be bypassed. Once I am better with mage, I will be more comfortable engaging them.

    I have tried moloing this mission with a ranger. I died during the last boss, but I never used glyph. I didn't have AA for it. Also was not maxed on AAs that would help with AC etc. I haven't tried for a second time yet, but pretty sure with a glyph, I can get it done. I also didn't have a sword and board bando set up. Just 2 hander tanked Kar.

    With pet class in mission and pet is tanking, you need to range dps with casting, archery etc. Get anywhere near the mobs and you take aggro.

    It is my understanding, that Kar gets "unlocked" after being hit with Stun spells totaling 4 seconds or more. I.e. Chanter stun spells have 6.5 stun duration and those unlock Kar in a single cast.
    Meanwhile wizards' Bifurcated Lightning (1s) and Ethereal Blitz (2s) require more than 1 cast to unlock.
    Wizards' spell Teladaka has 8 seconds stun and will unlock Kar in one cast, but it has 18 sec recast, so perhaps you'd need to come up with a way your wizzies cast that in turns.

    With the melee weapon buff my bard does around 20-30% melee damage now. The big damage still comes from dots, procs, and nukes.

    If you want to do real dps with a bard you can't use melo because it is worthless and there is no static loop you can play melo and do even 50% of the max dps a bard can produce.

    Real good bards watch for resist so if a dot gets resisted they recast the same dot without missing it and going on to the next melo value. At the same time they are clicking all kinds of toys and alternating BB and shout making sure they are both ticking the big nukes.
